I Did It Now What?
I quit my job at the end of the month a week and a half ago. I left for a handful of reasons:
1. Salary 20% below par for experience and background
2. 1 hour commute each way and owner will not allow more than one day remote per week.
3. technology is disparate and legacy (I'm a software engineer)
4. I'm working on a team of 1
5. The company is not growing--since I joined 18 months ago most of the meetings are about how the company is not…

We talk about it all the time saying things like; I will pray for you or I will keep you in my prayers, but what does it mean to pray?
Well first of all it’s comforting to know that even the followers of Jesus had to ask to be taught how to pray “Lord, teach us to pray” Luke 11:1. They…

Playing Bored Games at Your Job?
Oh no, Not the Pokemon-Go type games or anything like those. These are games we play when we stay at a job far too long for all the wrong reasons.
One of the things I hear consistently from many clients is how long they have been unhappy at their jobs. Many have stayed working in an area where they no longer experience joy, a sense of purpose or any contentment. They play Bored Games, Frustration Games,Blame Games and…

Health and Appetite: Clutter vs Control
Anyone who knows me well knows I am most definitely not a fanatic housekeeper. I like a clean orderly house, but mine is of the “lived in” genre! God, with His amazing sense of humor, has given me close friends who are more of the “clean-freak” types – you know what I mean. Vacuuming the mattress every…

Are you giving your best by serving from a full cup?
Imagine you take your bike out for a ride on a hot summer day. Anticipating you’ll get thirsty, you bring along a water bottle, but you forget to fill it. The bottle is present, but it’s useless. The same applies to ourselves. Unless our cup is full, we have nothing to share with others.…

As a coach, I've worked with some awesome clients. They are talented, motivated, and eager to learn. They understand that the benefits of success can't be realized unless they accept the possibility of failure. In many situations, they've tasted failure to some degree. But they don't let that hold them back. Like my clients, we would be naive to ignore the possibility of…

As creatives, “What do you want to do?” is one of the biggest questions we face. Every time a project is put to bed there is a void that needs to be filled as we slip from what’s finished to what’s next. Selecting our projects is really important. After all, we only have so many hours in a day and we want them to be as productive as possible. The last project is done, what do we do next?
The question can be daunting and we need to be careful. It’s easy to let ourselves become…
