What and why
In dealing with people and their finances I not only teach them what to do with their money, but we have to understand why they got to this place financially. Everyone usually starts out thinking that they are broke because they don’t make enough or that one certain circumstance caused them to get behind and stay there. Some times this is true, but not always. If a person can add and subtract they have the head knowledge to know when to stop…

“3/4 of people find jobs through being out there, engaged, and meeting people,” says Harvard graduate and CEO of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc., John Challenger.
Knowing someone well enough could be the key to finding a job, but if they know you well enough, you’re in a good position to ask for a referral.
Referrals account for 46% of all hires at top performing firms, and what better way to ask for a referral than via…

Somebody posted on Facebook the other a day a photograph of the old Porterdale School. It was the lower building. Talk about precious memories flooding one's soul! I spent some of the happiest moments of my life in that building and was introduced to the magical world of reading and writing and the not-quite-so-magical world of arithmetic. And yes, from time to time I experienced my teacher's hickory stick, or at least her paddle -- but it was never my fault.
The thing that stuck out…

Is Self-Regulation Effective?
Since the unhampered free market is what optimizes the flow of knowledge, part of that knowledge is related to how to improve social cooperation which then leads to a positive evolution of ethics. And as ethics advances, the strength and universality of self-regulation becomes better and better.
That is why the ultimate objective needs to be to educate the people of the world about the divine economy theory since it proves scientifically that the unhampered free…

(This is an excerpt from my latest creative&dangerous offering.)
Some projects don’t lend themselves well to deadlines. They just need time to develop. Rather than throwing them in the microwave you’re dumping them into the crock pot.
I’m thinking about longer, more ambitious works here. Great works of fiction. Outstanding musical compositions. That fantastic sculpture. You start with an idea and … then what?
That’s when it gets good.
If the idea’s…

Have a fire plan (Daddy’s love)
I wrote this post a couple weeks ago, and feel it is one of the most important I have ever written. It reminded me to install a new smoke detector, have a fire drill, and update our fire plan. Hope it inspires some of you to action on this important but not urgent activity.
This article will be different. It is born of an emotional story of a father who died trying to rescue his 3 year old…

Remember the old joke, "Do they have a Fourth of July in England?"
The automatic response is usually, "No," leading to the punchline, "Then what comes between the 3rd and the 5th?"
Ha, ha. Get it?
So, Independence Day is on the horizon -- and will surely be celebrated with fireworks and barbecue and all sorts of festivities. I can't wait. The Fourth of July is one of my favorite days of the year. I love dressing up in my red, white and blue and listening to patriotic…

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against you; pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8And the LORD said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks on it, shall live. 9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it on a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when…

The Entrepreneurial Spirit Drives The Market!
The market is an expression of the human actors (it is the universal language and prices are the words) and all humans exercise some degree of the entrepreneurial spirit.
The magnificent thing about the market is that it communicates intent and has content. When the medium of exchange is the one that is chosen by the market (ex. commodity monies since the beginning of human history) then it is indeed true that the words (prices) are universal…

Without a doubt money is never the problem when it comes to funding your next great business venture or real estate deal or your invention that is poised to change the world. The greatest obstacle to funding your next venture is your thoughts. In the words of one of my mentors, Robert Kiyosaki, "there is no greater obstacle than a thought." If you THINK about it you will see that I am on to something here. When I understood this concept it enabled me to purchase a million dollar…

Give Up!
There are so many times when we want to quit something we should be doing. It may be regarding our health, like eating right or exercising. It may be regarding our finances, like saving money. It may be regarding our career, like not pursuing a goal or new position. It may be regarding doing something helpful to someone else but we don’t because we talk ourselves out of it.
We may not think too much about quitting because we reason with ourselves that we are just too busy or it’s not…
