If you're trying to do business on your terms rather than on your customers, it may be time to wake up. That is, unless you're happy with where you are now in business.
I'd love your feedback on the length of this video. Every video I shoot is less than two minutes. Was this one too long? What do you… Continue
Here comes 2010. The year we have been waiting for......since about the time we decided 2009 was all used up. For whatever reason, at some point during the year we label it as what it was........and then start dreaming about how to make the next year something special. And then the next year comes and we are right back in the same boat by Halloween.....another year gone.......or so it seems.
Guess what.....it is still 2009 for another 12+ hours. Today still has PLENTY of value,… Continue
Certainly you remember the game. Kids line up abreast and then each take turns asking “Mother, may I take a step forward?” Or “Mother may I take a flying leap?”
And then “mother” would grant permission. (Or not.) The winner would get to be the mother. Being the mother (and wielding control over one’s peers,) was a heady position.
As I think about the New Year, now hours away, I think about how many of us adults are still playing that goofy game.
Everyone remembers Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. There have been about 8,000 different renditions of it, many of which have been on television for the past few weeks (I’m particularly partial to Scrooged, the 1988 comedy starring Bill Murray).
Of all the themes covered during the story, I draw financial connections with the concept of Christmases past, present, and future. For many of the people I meet with, Christmas is always about eight months away – even in… Continue

As you know, when a good friend does something in life that you think is a major accomplishment, you want to tell everyone about it, right? Well, one of our own brothers within our community has done something that is, in my eyes at least, worth bragging about.
Remember that little blog post entitled "Don't Burn Out the Clutch" by our buddy Joel Boggess? Well, I received Zig Ziglar's weekly newsletter yesterday and two or three articles down the page… Continue
How to choose the right logo design for your business
Every company has its own "persona", which is too complex to understand. Every successful logo simplifies by making that complex actuality into a single and uncomplicated statement that can be easily controlled and modified as the time passes.
It is that simple! From the name of your company to your existing competitors, your logo design can be the only means to… Continue

As parents we all want the best for our children.
We provide them with a great education.
We teach them about our lives in hopes they won't make the same mistakes we did.
We feed them, take care of them, we simply love them.
With the complications of our lives today, there is a lost art of sorts in positioning our children for success. Have you ever met a really gifted, technically perfect individual who really who, while gifted in… Continue

UPS and FedEx have both set their rates to increase by approximately 5% in January of 2010. It happens every year. Depending on how good your rep is you may or may not hear that much about it. Yet, it happens year after year and if you don't pay much attention, it can have a significant impact on your transportation revenue spend. If your company spends $50,000 per year on shipping and your rate increase is 5% that means that your shipping costs have increased by more than $200 per… Continue
It’s time we came clean with how we find ourselves writing this blog and even talking about marriage. It all started back in August 2008. Tony and I were about to lead a small group on intimacy and had stumbled across an interview with two couples who had done what would seem virtually impossible. Chandra Mueller had offered her husband 365 nights of intimacy for his 40th birthday and Douglas and Annie Brown had had sex for 101 nights. As we are… Continue

2009 has been a year of challenge for many of us. 2010 is filled with unknowns. Most of us here on 48Days.net are either entrepreneurs or have this as a goal. I would imagine that many of us are facing the challenge of improving our bottom line in the coming months, and we are looking for ways to do just that. During yesterday's sermon at my church I realized that one of the reasons my business is not at its best is the fact that "Face Time" could be improved. In other words, I need to be… Continue
So I asked for the "full sha-bang" package for Christmas and my wonderful Mom and Dad bought it for me. I just finished it and I am a Precisionist. On the values graph I got L - 34, E - 25 (both going above median line) and P - 23, J - 18 (both going down from median line). My highest energy is Loyalty. The profile was almost dead-on in every area.
Before I begin, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful advice and counsel you responded with on my previous blog post on hating not being appreciated. It did wonderful to lift my spirits. What also lifted my spirits recently is the incredible show of gratitute that my Ivorian staff members recently showed me and my wife at a Christmas party we held for them at our residence in Abidjan.
Well well. I can post a blog here on my search for a better me. How cool is that? I did not know this was here, I only heard a little bit about it from Dan's podcasts.
Anyway, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Brian Wetter, and I have a decent job making decent money doing decent work as your typical IT guy that deals with networks and firewalls and general computing nonsense.
So what's the problem?
I work all the way up in Chicago and my family lives about 2… Continue
