Why are we so content being…

A debt snowball is one of the best solutions to eliminate your credit card debt. You have seen the image. Start at the top of a hill with a small snowball and let it roll down. As the ball goes further down the hill, it begins to pick up more snow and speed. And on it goes building momentum, getting bigger and faster, bigger and faster, bigger and faster until it reaches its destination -- Pow! All…

I did a lot of life contemplation this morning. Sitting on the back patio reading, watching the cat peek his head out from some tall wheat grass in the distance as though Dori (my dog) and I couldn’t see him. It’s funny to watch the animals communicate, even with the wild ones such as the birds and…

Imagine yourself walking into a large white room, and in this room the floor is lined from corner to corner with piggy banks. Some of these piggy banks are full, some are empty, and some maybe just a few coins. On the door is a note addressed to you. You reach up and pull the envelope off the door and tear the crisp flap and pull out the note. The note simply says,"…

I was at one of my recent water aerobics classes. A woman approached the pool and came down the ladder to get into the pool two or three times. The water was cold, and I thought that was what she was timid about. It turns out she was afraid of the water. I heard her talking with friends after the class was over. She never got into the pool, but just stood on the sidelines and then took a…

Do you waste your marketing time and money on things that don't give you results? I was recently overwhelmed with the amount of postcards my wife got in the mail over a 2-3 week period before she attended a conference she pre-registered for. Seriously, I could not believe my wife was getting this…

When harvesting the produce from your garden, if there's more than you can eat, preserve, cook, freeze, etc. for your family, please share with friends and neighbors, especially those who do not have their own vegetable garden...Or if you just like getting your hands in the dirt and like to grow things for the pure enjoyment of it, donate your extra produce to the local food bank or soup kitchen.

A couple of quotes came across my eyes this week while reading. Both were from former presidents so I thought that it would be appropriate to share them with the coming Fourth of July weekend. This week will also mark Matthew’s 10 year birthday. Matthew is our "differently abled" son. I will not go into the details and get all mushy like I did last year around his birthday…I will let you catch up here with this link…you will be rewarded with the most precious video of…

Not sure if I should be blogging right now, but hopefully I can get a couple words in before my wife signals at me to get off the computer and let’s go. I have this enormous tender pain in my lower left abdomen going on right now. It’s been here since yesterday, but evidently we’re heading to the doctor this morning.
Not sure what to say except that for prayers are always welcome. It’s probably just an enormous gas bubble. At least that’s the…

I had to give two 25 min. "motivational" talks last Friday. Four of my co-workers were present. One told me today that he mentioned to someone that I had "missed my calling". I was flattered. Wow....really? Little does he know....my calling is calling me.
In the quest to "find our passion", "find our calling", or however we…

QUOTE:
"Other things may change us, but we start and end with family."
- Anthony Brandt
INSPIRATION:
At the beginning of our life and at our final resting place, it is family that will be there. Friends come and go, careers, possessions, ambitions and anything else that we deem important in our lives have their season, but it is family that remains our constant.
Happy is the person that…

When the garden raiders are out in full force at night, here's a way to discourage the critters...If your garden has access or is close to an electrical source, simply string up some blinking Christmas lights on the plant stakes around your garden and light up the area...Watch out, your unusual deterrent may be the talk of the neighborhood!...Caution: Don't forget to unplug the… Continue

I have a black and white medium haired domestic cat by the name of Angel. I love him, but he’s quite a little discomfort for me while I’m trying to get work done. He seems to interrupt me right at the right times; every time. Even while I’m writing this, he’s quietly nudging my arm and hand because he…
