I wish I had what he has

It is easy to grow distracted with concerns about what others want to hear or what others will think. But how can I share what I know if I censor what I know? How can I share who I am if I hide who I am? How can I give freely if my heart hesitates? How can I? And how can you?

Focus your energy today on helping one who will go where he or she wants to go.
“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.”
– ROSALYNN CARTER
Early on our network marketing journey we must share information, sift and sort, until we find others who want to go where we do. Over time, that leadership will duplicate.
Challenge for today:
Call your teammates who want to…

Back in the box, y'all
This is Part I of a two-part series.
One of my favorite moments in Airplane goes like this:
McCroskey: Johnny, what can you make out of this? [Hands Johnny a weather briefing]
Johnny: This? Why, I can make a hat or a brooch or a pterodactyl…
Johnny was great comic relief (not that the movie was short on…

What's in a name?
My cat had kittens in July. So....now...the kittens are venturing out into the basement, and I had to name them.
I gave them generic names. Marco, Patches, and Zipper.
I named them based on observation. The "explorer" and the one who…

Oh what a difference a day makes!
Life gets crazy some times and things in life don’t necessarily go the way you planned them to go. It is easy to get discouraged and want to stop and go back to the comfortable easy way that doesn’t produce the results you want but it is familiar. My wife and I have been in the process of adopting her 7 year old cousin. We have been going through the process for over a year…

Box awareness day - Dairy of a yoga instructor trainee
We started today with small group teaching. I was definitely more at ease compared with last night. However, within a few minutes, I heard this inner voice: “Should I have her hold this long? I would be tired by now.” “I don’t particular enjoy this pose, so I won’t make her repeat it too many times.”
I forgot I had those thoughts…

As we commit to living purposefully, we discover an appreciation for the proper uses of “yes” and “no.” Simple as these words may seem, both carry a lot of weight…
Often we perceive the word “no” to bear a negative connotation, and…

Still haven't found what you're looking for? "It's your call."
I got an instant message just a few hours after we published the interview with Gary Barkalow.
It was from our dear friend Cindy.
She coached with another friend of ours, Rob Clinton, and Pei and I had the pleasure of watching her grow, (both spiritually and emotionally), as part of that beautiful process.
And,…

Clear as mud
My mother used a phrase that spoke for itself. "That's as clear as mud." I knew what she meant. As we create work we love let's clear some things up.
We may be plodding along.
The waters may be…

How Do You Find A Job You Love?
Well to start out you’re asking the wrong question. The real question you should ask yourself is why? I just tricked you a little (ha ha) the only way to get on the path to the work you love is to answer the question WHY. So to explain what I mean I just want to give you a few quick thoughts:
1. When you focus on the “how” and the “what” you’ll get discouraged and give up
If you have kids, have they ever asked you to build a tree house? They’re super excited and so…

Have a talk with yourself. Then have a lot more talks with yourself.
“Have a talk with yourself. Then have a lot more talks with yourself. Convince number one that you can succeed and you will succeed. If you don’t believe in you, why should anyone else?”
– TOM HOPKINS
Successful individuals remind themselves constantly that there is greatness inside them. They review their specific written goals, the design for their lives, frequently each day. They spend their time with others…

OH MY GOD!
Nearly every week I try to ask a question for you to take a second to respond to. Some may be more thought provoking, some not so much. There is no right or wrong answer...only your answer. I hope you will take a moment to respond.
This week's question is What was your OH MY GOD Moment? OH MY GOD!

Nightmares and other messages from the subconscious
I rarely remember my dreams. This is a source of no small irritation to me, as I know that dreams are a rich source of creativity. They’re also one of the ways that we talk to ourselves, unfettered by social conventions.
Because I rarely remember my dreams, I take particular note when I do remember one. And on Saturday, I did. And it was a doozy.
I’d decided to take a nap. This is a rare occurrence, as I am generally a ‘once awake, awake for the day’ kind of person. It was a…

Have you ever awoken in the middle of the night to a baby crying?
And you look over to where your partner should be and he or she isn’t there? In my case, it was midnight and the baby had been screaming for quite some time. In my house, my wife takes care of the screaming babies and I take care of everything else. But on this particular night, she wasn’t there and I went to look for her.
Yet tonight, my wife wasn’t there. She wasn’t in the living room or…

Put blinders on
Horses are used for work and sport. In both of these instances a horse can wear blinders. Blinders help race horses not become distracted by things on either side of them. Work horses can easily be spooked too and blinders help this from happening. The bottom line is blinders help horses to focus. In creating work we love, we need blinders too. We need to focus.…
