I am considering the idea of a mobile food business this year and would like to know if anyone has any helpful suggestions on past successes/failures that I can help build upon.

It was Worth it

For the past two years I haven't had a single day where I haven't had to rush out at a certain time...until today.

With the exception of holidays and being out of town, I haven't had a single break. I'm in the office Monday - Friday. Saturday morning I host Past Due: Radio and Sunday we rush out for church.

A Brief Encounter at Borders Bookstore

A couple of weeks ago I met with JB, and afterward he was kind enough to point me to the nearest Borders Bookstore. (There is no Borders or B&N where I live so I have to visit one any time I'm near one.) One of my great loves is children's literature, and I'm always up on who wins the prestigous Newbery Medal, etc. I suppose it's because I didn't read these books when I was a kid that I get so much out of them now.

"Your Sales Motive"

Standardized minds

There is a new policy at Molly's school innocuously called, “Not There Yet.” It mandates a minimum 80% on all tests and quizzes for 7th and 8th graders. Is it a stretch to imagine that this policy is driven by the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program? (TCAP)

Failure to obtain an 80% results in a mandatory “remediation” session after school until the 80% is obtained. Failure to do that results in a three hour detention. By gosh by golly…This kids WILL learn!

Be careful what you wish for...

Last Tuesday, I met with JB to discuss possible career change opportunities. One of the areas my GTPs (Gifts, Talents, Passions) most prominently pointed to was advertising/marketing. This is an area which on the business/professional level I know very little about; but I love to promote. I love to be creative in how I promote. Life Goes On

Since I left home two days ago for our trip to Florida, two people have died whom I care about. Two funerals I would want to attend if I were home. I have been in constant consternation since I left wondering if I should turn around and return home. I take friendships seriously. And although both the beautiful women who died were aged and at peace with their fate, they leave behind family members who are dear friends of mine. I want to be with them to comfort them in their loss.
