How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about 48Days.NET from the Dave Ramsey show. I hope to meet new friends and colleagues and share stories, experiences, and knowledge to help each other learn and grow as we work towards our dreams and goals.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am an Office Services Manager in a law firm, and have been doing this for approximately 11 years. In addition, I am the founder of "Pressing Forward" and I am passionate about helping people enhance their personal development so they can excel in their career and life by providing practical strategies, inspiration, and valuable resources.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My main goal right now is to get my "Pressing Forward" business to a full time basis. I want to have a business I enjoy on a daily basis that uses my gifts and talents to their full potential to help others achieve their dreams and goals. In addition, I want to be able to give back generously to God, my family, and the community.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I am a constant learner and always working on my personal development. One of my goals is to read more books per year. I also want to continue to improve my speaking skills through Toastmasters. For fun, spend more time gardening, hiking, traveling, and being creative in the kitchen!
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- Setting and achieving goals
- Organization
- Team building
- Teaching and mentoring
- Communicating

DISC in the Workplace: A Great Style for Human Resources

Human Resource personnel have a hard job. They usually get a bad reputation because they have to carry out the not so pleasant duties of counseling people, firing people, and laying people off. Although they bring many valuable assets to an organization and their employees, sometimes the good is overlooked. People often feel like they are going to the principal’s office when called in by Human Resources. But, it does not have to be that way.Do you know the kind of person that when they walk in…See More

DISC in the Workplace: Could You Handle Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada?

Posted on April 22, 2016 at 11:30am 6 Comments

Do you recall the character Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada? She was constantly giving orders and many at one time. She could rattle off tasks faster than her new protege, Andy, could even capture at the beginning. If Andy started asking questions regarding the assignments, she would quickly get a less than desirable answer, sharp remarks, and a stern look from Miranda. An example of this is when Andy…

Hi Angela,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
