What Do You Do?

Why is it that when we meet someone for the first time one of the first questions we ask or are asked is, “What do you do?” Not only that, how do we typically answer this question when asked? Here is how it might look in real life.“Hi, my name is Johnny Miller. What’s your name?” You of course would answer with your name and then I may ask you, “and what do you do?” If you are like most people, you would answer with your job title. So you might say, “I’m a teacher or an…See More

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I first heard about it after my sister sent me Dan's "48 Days to the Work You Love", and I have been listening to his online radio show and reading more of his books ever since.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Employee
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My dream would be to earn abundant income from home doing something I love with my soon to be wife.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
One financial goal is to become debt free in 5 years or less. My fiance and I have a goal of only being at our current jobs for another 2 years at the most. We both dream of building a dream home and raising a family together. We are both creative and desire to be using our talents daily in creating our future instead of conforming to someone else's "requirements" and building theirs.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am an Assessor according to the DISC profile, so I am very strong in analyzing and organizing information and details. So, I like being independent, but I also enjoy encouraging others and helping them see a different perspective in their particular situation.

Dear Me,

Listen, I know it's been some time since we've connected. We used to know each other really well when we were kids. Do you remember all those adventures we had building forts in the house, climbing trees outside, and riding bikes everywhere? Or how about that first underwater Lego set we built? That was so cool!

So, how have you been? I haven't seen you in such a long time. What happened to you? Do you still…

Hi John - Welcome to the 48 Days community. We're glad you joined.

This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity or find the work they love.

I've been a coach under Dan's tutelage for about seven years and have been a member of this community since pretty much day one.

There is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with. If you'd like to take a peek at mine, "Raise your Game", here you go.

An easy way to get started is by visiting the handy get started tutorial page. You'll find how-to videos and suggestions.

In gratitude,

-joel

Welcome John,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
