This is sad, but I am 37 years old, and I have led groups, trained people, been a camp counselor, and case manager, but have never been a direct supervisor of a number of people in a career position. I recently applied for a supervisory position and was kindly told to beef up the management & supervision section of my resume & resubmit. How can I do that without any prior experience? Anyone?

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I found out about 48days.net by Dan Miller mentioning the community on the 48 Days Podcast. My hope for my membership in this community is to connect with others in order to further my goal of leading a happy life and doing work that matters. I also hope to help others connect in whatever way I can if there is a topic or subject I am able to divulge my own expertise.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently employed full time by the State of Indiana and part-time by Domino's Pizza.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I hope to be making $150,000 per year by the end of 2015 (10x goals:) in a field or position of which I am passionate about.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My personal goals are to be able to care for my family financially so I can provide the life they deserve. I want to give them the well deserved vacations they deserve. I hope to be able to travel and show them a world outside the United States. I hope to be able to finally go into the mission fields of Uganda in Africa (even if just temporarily) as I promised my wife we would when we got married 10 years ago. I hope to be present for my children instead of trading all my time just to make ends meet.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am an observer of people and life. I have an understanding of what makes people tick. I have experience in my work life in the areas of non-profit, for-profit, customer service, sales, government assistance, and counseling and mental health. I have ADHD. I wasn't diagnosed until Sophomore year of college in 1999. I am fluent in Spanish and I have lived or traveled abroad for a sum total of about 11-12 months outside the U.S.

Welcome Justin,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
