- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
- I first heard about 48day.net from the 48 days.com e-newsletter. From the 48days.com website I also found a great coach (Joel Boggess) and am now aware of my passion and calling. At this point I am doing whatever I can to cultivate them and trying to find my niche.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- Was employed fulltime (teaching at a chiropractic school)with benefits, but was reduced to part time with no benefits back in October of 2011. As of January 2011, I am back in chiropractic practice again and loving it.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- I am a chiropractor who is working part time at my chiropractic alma mater and has just gone back into practice. I love it but I also have a passion for writing and for helping people to achieve optimal health through natural health and choosing a healthy lifestyle. This encompasses much more than chiropractic care and would involve everything from healthy diet and exercise to dealing with stress.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- Now that I am no longer working crazy full time hours and have a flexible practice, my goal is to be more present for my husband and my son especially since my baby is starting school this fall. I missed so many special moments of his preschool years due to an inflexible work schedule and I don't plan to miss anything else. I am also rediscovering friendships and my social life, which I buried for so long because I was always working and when I was not working I was tired. I want to go back to school (online) to become a health coach but need to build my practice up to the point where I can do it debt free. Also, had to put my student loan debt in forbearance when I was reduced to part time. My goal in building my practice and being able create income with my passion is to pay them off within 10 years instead of 25. To do a an online natural cooking show since I have been quite successful in giving a lot of otherwise unhealthy dishes healthy makeovers. The goal would also be to teach people especially moms how to shop for healthy natural foods without breaking the bank as well as how to cook from scratch instead of relying on processed foods.
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
