- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about it from 48Days.com & Dan's podcasts. I want to learn from and share with other coaches.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I'm "self-unemployed," building my own Learning Farm on which we teach about sustainable living. I'm also an adjunct instructor, I run a Faculty Development business, and I write curriculum for professional development companies and colleges.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- To grow the farm so we can teach more classes to adults and kids. We embed practical science, self-sufficiency and logical thinking into our classes. We also teach financial classes because responsible financial management is part of a sustainable life.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
In about five years we want to finish rebuilding our house (we've nicknamed it the Winchester Mansion after the mansion in California), to make our FINAL payment on the house, and for my husband to retire from his current job & join me in the farm business, evolving it into a ministry.
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Teaching and system development are my two "wires." I like to build processes. I enjoy learning, processing, and teaching.
I've also been enjoying my animals and getting back into technology, which is where I started my career. Building websites and online stores and classrooms has been a blast!

Good morning, John! You had written to me: "Hi Sheri, I had a question for you about one of your posts re: the BioPod soldier fly composter. How do you find products like these to become a distributor? Thanks for any help or ideas!" Well, we had looked into their product to find out more about it. We noticed that they had distributors in other regions, but none in our area. Since we are looking for quality products to sell, we called them, probed a little further about the product, and then asked what the process was for becoming a distributor. Depending on the product, some companies want certain types of store fronts, delivery access, business track records, etc. But don't ever let that stop you. Until you know their process and expectations, anything is possible. And sometimes you can negotiate a workaround if you don't meet their normal qualifications.

Understand that I am a consultant and will tell you pretty straight out what I think and what recommendations I would make for what you are working on.
It looks like you are working on building a lot of great content. I would say that you are probably not very focused though and that will likely hinder your success overall. I know this in general because of my own ADD with web stuff. So you have some strategy and goals to map out.
I have worked on several different platforms with websites and the single best platform for large content money making websites is SBI. If you go to my profile page there are several free ebooks that you can download to help you out as well. (no email necessary)
The main issue is getting targeted traffic. That is done through key word research and building the on page SEO properly and little off page linking is great too. But even without the off page linking a page properly set up will perform very well.
If you really want to get traffic with your blogs and use that as a primary platform (which many do, i prefer a core website that is supported by a blog) then you should switch from the wordpress.com sites to wordpress.org sites. A good bluehost.com or hostgator.com account will provide you some easy set up of those with the domain names. You have the choice of doing the blogs as stand alone domains which if it is independent of anything else that is fine. But if it is in support of a website then you should do it either as a sub domain or directory. blog.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/blog
They key word research is really key and having a good map of what content you should be adding either to your blog or your website. Websites are not meant to be static while blogs are dynamic. That really is not how it should work. Websites built write are constantly dynamic and changing but always maintaining a core content that is easy to navigate and builds trust with your visitors.
