Comment by Michael Juhl on November 22, 2015 at 10:11pm Hi All!
I am new to this group. I am working on growing my video production company and looking for info and insigths regarding following the passion I have for videography. I have already joined and started a forum discussion over in the JumpIn group but thought this group made perfect sense to join as well as it's specific to media.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this discussion. Can someone recommend a few blogs/comments that I should read to get me to speed in this group? I'm Looking forward to learning and contributing. Thanks!

Hi Phil, great job on the video. Can you post this to it's own discussion so we can give you our thoughts?
Hey friends, I hope all is well with everyone and that you are staying out of the cold. I just produced a video for a Kickstarter program and was curious what your thoughts were. Mind you, this is a first edit, so there may be some rough parts.

Thanks for joining Phil. It sounds like you have a great background in the video production field. Please jump in and feel free to share and help as you are able.
Hello friends, my name is Phil Cowen. I am a video producer in Chicago and I am willing to help with productions. My background comes from the military, where I am a Broadcast Journalist. I initially studied at the Defense Information School, which opened the door to me attending film school in Chicago. I am looking forward to hearing about best practices here and helping others out if I am able.

Here is a really good article on making videos, especially if you're new to video.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for joining this group. I've run a media marketing company for 10 years and we specialize in video production (and web design). Most of my education is self-taught and there are more resources than when I first started out. The key is to keep practicing and learning as much as you can.
One valuable resource I use is a membership site called http://www.kre8insights.com/ I don't get anything for promoting them, in fact, I'm a paying member just like the others in the group. Kre8 has a weekly video call with the creator of the group, a ton of awesome ebooks and videos on the website and a very active private Facebook group. The cost is very reasonable and I recommend it since it has a good mix of pros and beginners. Check it out.
Comment by Robert Silver on August 5, 2013 at 1:38pm Hello All! I am a budding photo/videographer. I am interested in producing marketing videos for businesses. I am just starting out, so I don't have too many bells and whistles, bu I do have a Sony VX2100, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro. I welcome all suggestions on how I can get this dream off the ground. Here are a few links to my work. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

Jason,
Nice video! I bet you'll really like the T4i and H4n for your videos. A DSLR brings up the production value so much!
