"Thanks, Paul. Yes, it definitely takes servant-hood to lead and develop other leaders. You have to hold others up and coach them instead of always just trying to manage them. To serve others and be okay with them surpassing you (which some will do)…"

Paul H. Grau, Jr. commented on Will Ratliff's blog post The 4 Phase Process of Building Leaders Who Build Leaders
"Enjoyed your article Will. I thin another aspect that makes it difficult for people is that it takes "servant-hood." Too many leaders are under the impression that being a servant means they are weak...and that's a big…"

The 4 Phase Process of Building Leaders Who Build Leaders

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, “The best investment you will ever make as a leader is in developing other people.” Hands down this is both the most challenging task and the most rewarding as a leader. Anyone can delegate tasks. Very few leaders will not only develop other leaders, but also go further and actually train leaders who go on to develop others as…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I read the book 48 Days to the Work You Love, I'm an affiliate partner, and I hope to be able to help others in the same way that the book helped me.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently employed as a college adviser; however, I am working on my own business developing team resources for leaders.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My goal is to have an online business that generates enough income to support my family, so that I can spend more time in ministry, as well as traveling with my family.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I was in full-time ministry for a number of years, but felt God calling me out of that to be more involved in the community. My personal goals are to develop a blog that is my ministry and encourages but also challenges Christians to live a deeper, richer life in Christ.

I also want to have a lifestyle that allows me to take my kids to school and pick them up, as well as spend more time in the summers with them (while they want me to).
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
My strongest talents are creativity, writing, connecting with people of various backgrounds and ages. I also have the gift of leading worship and teaching.

Hi Will,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, it sounds like you are interested in writing. If so, consider joining the Write It Forward. There are some great discussions going on that will likely be very profitable for you.

Plus, you might want to check out Speak It Forward as well. It's another group I'm involved with that has a lot of activity taking place.

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian

Hi Will - Welcome to the 48 Days community. We're glad you joined.

This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity or find the work they love.

I've been a coach under Dan's tutelage for about seven years and have been a member of this community since pretty much day one.

There is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with. If you'd like to take a peek at mine, "Raise your Game", here you go.

An easy way to get started is by visiting the handy get started tutorial page. You'll find how-to videos and suggestions.

In gratitude,

-joel
