When my husband and I began homeschooling last fall, I signed up for every homeschool magazine I could find. I waited anxiously for the issues to arrive...as they started arriving in the mail, I realized something. Not one of them spoke to me. I found them to be one-sided in their perspective. I wanted more.. I wanted to learn about different people and how they homeschool, how they integrate their various faiths into it...or not. I wanted something that was designed to bring people together from all walks of life.
So I built it.
I started Learning Tangent Magazine with the stated goal of welcoming people of all faiths, celebrating our similarities and respecting the differences. We don't have to agree on anything, nor should we! But we should be able to read about someone's homeschool experience without feeling threatened by their faith, nor should we feel like we can't express our own.
We'll see how things go, but I'm hopeful, excited and can't ready to see the first issue released digitally on March 21st! I have a fantastic group of writers, talking about everything from common core to health, to art and reading.
Won't you join me?
