I've just moved across country and really would not like to get a "job" so I took the opportunity to go through Dan's 48 Business ideas. Enjoy working w/ seniors and a few of the ideas I'm working on are:
1- computing w/ seniors, I've had some older friends get stuck using some programs or get a virus and can't lug their computer to a shop to fix it.
2 - checking on seniors combined with an errand service.
A marketing strategy would be to teach a class/seminar on a new program or restoring a computer to an independent living facility or senior center. I have experience and the patience working with seniors who are 85+ and losing some of the problem solving skills they used to have and have the interest in helping them be as independent as they can be.
Any thoughts?

Bernice ~ You've got a wonderful website and I also like the comment that 'we come equipped'. Living in Phoenix gives me a lot of retired folks. Thank you for the pointers and marketing tips. I'm surprised you don't have coaching as a dream you're pursuing.
Cari ~ You've got a wonderful website! Thank you and I will be successful in the measure I actually bring services TO people vs spending a great deal of time planning
Leslie, thank you for commenting. Have gotten some good feedback. My observation is that people are already connected with new tech ie iphones, laptops... it's when they get they get stuck that I'll be able to help.
Comment by Bernice Coles on June 4, 2012 at 7:43pm Great ideas. If you live in an area that has a senior population who reside in "senior living" complexes you could contract with the complex to conduct classes. Senior centers, public libraries, and assisted living facilities are places you could also conduct classes too. Senior publications in your area can be used a media outlets to get the word out about your classes/services. Also private podiatrist in your area may have a large senior number of clients who may be able to use your services too. All the best.
