About every 25 seconds, an American will have a coronary event. Approximately, one person will die of heart disease every minute. The CDC predicts that up to 1/3 of U.S. adults could have diabetes by 2050. In fact, the following is a list of the top 10 leading causes of death in America:

  • Heart disease
  • Cancer
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases)
  • Accidents (unintentional injuries)
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Diabetes
  • Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis
  • Influenza and Pneumonia
  • Intentional self­harm (suicide)

Marie - thank you for reading! I understand that all the information out there can drive you crazy! Especially when you want to give your child the absolute best start in life. This is why I offer a Healthy Child Evaluation for moms. It is also why I got involved with Beyond Organic. I do remember when my children were small and finances were very tight - so I understand you cannot always afford ALL organic - but when it comes to produce it definitely is the best option. If you have a farmers market or some other farm stand where you can get locally grown produce that's another excellent option. Dairy is one thing, especially, I would say should be organic - especially if you give it to your children - you don't want the antibiotics and hormones.  The best quality meat and poultry is important as well. Jen. and Ann. Thank you for the post. This is exactly what I needed. I am eating healthy. However, with exercise, I need to find a good balance. I completed the Insanity. That was huge for me. After the Insanity, I feel I needed a break. Thank you for letting me know my break week is over. I probably will do something less intense. You are right. I do not want to be on this list.

Ann. I'm a mom of an 18 months old. Reading all the info about food almost drove me crazy. Gluten free, Forks over Knives and all the other Netflix documentaries advised to go organic. Now, I'M wondering is organic really the best route. A lot packages are labeled organic these days.. Please share any tips on choosing organic and also juicing.
