God made this day . We can't change it by complaining . What has happened is part of the past , now will be the past as you read this , all we can pray to change is the future . Now is all that we have and all that we can do is accept it , and make the best of it ,and greet the future when we get there .
Worrying or fearing it only wastes the energy and other essentials that we need to greet and embrace it, and bars God from entering our hearts to guide us through it .

We live in an era , and a society that has conditioned us to expect or demand instant gratification . Most of us allow the failure of instant gratification to materialize to forever discourage us . Thomas Edison , once sent home from school as unteachable said , I didn't have 10,000 failures , I just discovered 10,000 ways not to do something .

I really appreciated this post.  I lost my job yesterday and have been sitting in front of my computer trying to figure out what happened and what is next.  I believe I am ready to allow that door to close and allow God to open the next one.  Thanks for being there and providing words of encouragement.

You have no idea how much this post meant to me when I first read it several hours ago. I had just opened up a letter from the HR department that I interviewed with on Wednesday - letting me know they chose someone else.

I was in shock - after the interview on Wednesday - for the first time ever - I really felt like the job was mine when I walked out the door.

I need to rejoice in today anyway and move on!

Complaining gets us nowhere fast...People who are chronic complainers are repulsive to be around for me. As for worry and fear, I am surrounded by people who practically immerse themselves in these ways. I agree as to how wrong it is and I try to encourage people to instead focus their energy on visualizing and expecting more positive things to happen. It is through prayer and supplication they should make their requests known to God. Things sometimes cannot be changed, but as we accept what we have to work with and plow through, never giving up, it invigorates us and allows us the privilege of living happier lives... I love what you had to say Rusty!

You are so right Russell. We can't change what has happened. However, these things, even though we strive to make them not happen, can work to our advantage by learning from them.
I like the fact that Edison didn't give up. Through his positive attitude, I now sit in my kitchen typing on this laptop with the lights on!

I try everyday to make the best of everything that happens. And as far as worrying about things we have no control over anyways, I feel that worrying is merely a form of prayer to the wrong one. So I don't want pray to the wrong one. That only intensifies the problems in life and insures bad things will happen.

You're also right Russell when you say "now will be the past as you read this." This is more more proof that "time flies!" So we better hurry and start making the best of every minute God gives us. It's up to us to fulfill the mission in life he has for us, and it won't happen any time soon if we sit and worry about it!

Great blog post Russell, thanks.

Archie
