Too Far Out There for a Good Christian Like Me

One of the unexpected things for me with jumping into entrepreneurship has been the need for a healthy mindset and attitude. To be honest, I never gave my mindset and attitude much thought until a few years ago. I always saw this part of personal growth as superfluous and only for those who were a little far out there.

At the bookstore, I’d see the self-help books and be…

Don't pause your life

Newton's First Law of Motion states that an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest, unless acted on by an outside force. That's true about objects and people.

If your life is paused while you wait for whatever is next, it will remain paused unless an external force is applied. In our lives, this might be called motivation. Without it, we will keep reliving…

Five Steps to Change Your Attitude

I’m from the southern part of the U.S. where old timers use sayings like “get out of that rut”, or “you’re in a rut”. What they were talking about was your attitude.

I used to work with a grumpy assed individual who explained his being…

The Coach gets to be Coached!

Sometimes, the best help comes from our clients.

I have two clients: a budding entrepreneur and an amazing musician. They were both wanting more from life and I provided my coaching services to them.  The entrepreneur is now finding ways to get more income from his gaming group, and the musician now has a concrete plan in order to attack his career.  They both have a realistic, but challenging plan to double their income next year.

In the meantime, I have been struggling on my…

Need help for a friend of mine!

We have a friend who is stuck in the beginning of what looks to be a messy divorce.

He is a very controlling and restrictive personality, and she is trying to break free from that.

She is trying to find a way to continue home-schooling her son, and find some sort of income from an evening/night job or flexible hours income.

Her background is in childcare / daycare.  (she used to run her own years ago)  She has a very upbeat and perky…

Finances: Broke or Poor?

There is a difference.

Broke- “destroy; make whole into pieces”

Poor- “a hapless victim, deserving or inciting pity,  fortune-less, poverty”

The main difference is mindset, ala Dave Ramsey:

“Broke, you are passing through. Poor is a mindset.”

With being broke, you know you are passing through this time in your life. You are battling. Sure , you get down or even downright depressed. I’ve been…

Customer Service is Alive & Well

So last week I was on the phone with a particular Internet company.  I was tweeting out the play by play as I “patiently” waited for answers to my billing questions.
I actually blocked off an hour for this task and almost went over.....
Needless to say , I was steaming......but they eventually made it right (only after blowing an unnecessary “human gasket”).
The responses I received while I was blasting out tweets every couple of…
