My granddaughter, Clara, is very creative. She is almost seven years old and I learn something from her every time we get into art projects. Which is often. She has been part of our art classes at the Sanctuary since she was four and she is always an inspiration to us adults in the class because of her fearlessness in attacking any art project. She just starts it...and no matter what happens she finishes. Often she has stood up in class and…Continue

Recently, my wife, Claudia, and I had a decision to make. It wasn’t super important, but important enough. We dragged our feet and took far too long to make our decision. We were wishy-washy and indecisive.
The good news is, we DID make a decision.
The bad news is, now we’re NOT SURE if we like it.
Have you ever experienced this? You struggle and struggle to make a decision and then you have second thoughts?
I know I have.…Continue

How often do we examine the simple things about our walk with God? Everyday, we are given 24 hours to eat, sleep, and live among one another and we do not always take note to the things that keep our strength and courage above the struggles and trials of each day! Each time we wake is another day to be happy we are alive. While bad things can happen, think about all the good things that happen as well that have become natural to us.
One of the highest compliments to us is that God has…Continue

I had some good advice this week.
I'm wanting to charge ahead on a project, but I'm struggling with some areas of self-doubt, fear from past experiences, etc.
The advice given: Take 30 days, do something that I really love to do where I use my innate strengths and passion.
The goal: Build confidence, decide if where I'm going is the correct path.

Stretching the legs of curiosity will often walk you to the best destination.
Standing still will buckle the knees of doubt and fear. -jb
What do you usually do when you hear something that peaks your interest?
Do you inquire, probe, and try to find out more? Or do you allow it to wander from your mind?
What would happen if, the next time you heard something that had a spark to it, you trusted your God-given instinct and followed the trail to where it was…Continue

How can we truly live a life well lived, unless we actually take the plunge. There are many reasons why we should not do something great, but there are even more reasons why we should. All you need is one, and may it be the simple fact that if you don’t jump in, then you’re never going to see how great you can truly be.…
Have you ever doubted your ability to do something? Sure you have, if you’re human. We have all doubted at one point, and most likely multiple times. It’s how we’ve been conditioned to respond in our society. Practical is the normal, and dreamers are only dreamers. This is the world of clichés such as “Seeing is Believing”. I’m here to take you to another world which totally defies everything…Continue
There is a win in every possible situation you will encounter; no matter how dark there is always a win. Our minds can easily be conditioned to allow our doubts to guide our lives, and thus we bounce to and fro according to where we allow circumstance to lead us.…
