One of the unexpected things for me with jumping into entrepreneurship has been the need for a healthy mindset and attitude. To be honest, I never gave my mindset and attitude much thought until a few years ago. I always saw this part of personal growth as superfluous and only for those who were a little far out there.
At the bookstore, I’d see the self-help books and be… Continue

"The most influential person you will talk to all day is you....be careful what you say."-Zig Ziglar
Remember before bluetooth technology when you used to see someone sitting at a stoplight and there was no doubt they were talking to themselves? If you’re like me, you found it humorous and couldn’t help but wonder what conversation was going on. Even funnier is when they were very… Continue

[The trick is] to realize that the pain isn’t something awful to be postponed and avoided, but a signal that you’re getting stronger — something to savor and enjoy. It’s what makes you better. ~ Aaron Swartz

Regardless of where you are in your life, there are some things that you want more of. More free time? More money? More success at work? More ability to help others?
So how do you start on the path to getting more of what you want?
First, dream more.
I don’t know about you, but I never thought of myself as a “dreamer”. My idea of a dreamer was this… Continue

Shouldn’t experience count more than anything else? Some think so. I don’t.
I’m sure you know someone who is very experienced, but just keeps waiting for that next opportunity that never seems to come. How about when you’ve had to interact with someone who was clearly experienced but a real drag to deal with? These are two examples that prove that experience isn’t the most important thing.
Yes, experience is a big factor as it should be. However, the reality is that much… Continue

Can fear of success really inhibit us from moving forward? It can, and here are a few reasons why.

Some people remember the exact moment in time when man first stepped foot on the moon, or news reached them that US President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
There are a few moments in… Continue

I'm sure for God, it must be painful to hear us pray for something that was delivered last month but we do not yet see it.

My kids have heard hundreds of times in their young lives,"change your attitude, change your day."
If you don't have a great attitude, do us a favor and go get out and get you some. It will change not only your world, but chances are someone else's world around… Continue

The things that you yourself used to do and then stopped in your growing wisdom now begin to annoy you when you notice them in others. Of course, you are not so much annoyed with them as you are with the old you who did the same darn thing. ~ Farnoosh Brock

Years ago, my sponsor suggested I do something positive towards someone else’s life. He asked that I perform this feat at least three times daily and if the person found out about the deed, the attempt did not count.

If once you forfeit the confidence of your fellow-citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem.

Dealing with change. You don’t like it. I don’t like it. Nobody really likes it.
It’s a hassle. It takes you out of your comfort zone. You probably say to yourself, ”I just figured this out, now I have to change again?” Or how about “But this is the way it has always been.”
Some of us don’t resist change, we just resist being changed. After all, why would I care if you change as long it’s not affecting me? Go ahead, change all you want!
Sound familiar? I… Continue

Are you tired of the same routine day after day? Do you feel as if today is only a speed bump in the road between yesterday and tomorrow? You are not alone! Many people live day-to-day with little hope for anything other than a mediocre, mundane existence. Some are trapped in jobs where they are little more than rats in a maze. Others have routines at home…

I'm told there is a book which inspired a mentor of a friend of mine back in the 80s called "Tu Puedes!" The translation is: "You Can (do it)!"
During hot New Mexico summer days, as we were missionaries proselyting door-to-door or being chased by dogs (which outnumbered people 2:1 in some towns like Vado), we would chide each other with the mantra of "Tu Puedes!"
While it was a bit of a laugh at the time, I have used this saying over and over again when the going gets tough to… Continue

How often do we find ourselves anxious about the next step? As soon as we find out what something could be, were ready to immediately start making that step happen. What we see is what we want. What causes us to do this to ourselves? A majority of us realize at a certain age that most of what others have acquired in their life was done through hard work and a decent amount of time. Where does the excellence, diligence and ability to do great things come from? How can we have patience and a… Continue
