I heard a puzzling statistic the other day that, at first, might seem irrelevant to you; but, upon further pondering, I saw it as life-transforming. The speaker said that, of all the vocations in the world, the group who live the longest are music conductors! When I heard this I, immediately, thought that the reason must have something to do with the fact that they hear beautiful music all day long. However, according to the source, it has everything to do with the fact that most of the…Continue

We all know those pitiful creatures that always seem to be caught up in a drama of someone's divorce or calamity. Upon further inquiry, we find out that the person they are concerned about is a fictional character on a daily soap opera! When we relate the sad story to our friends we roll our eyes as we quote them saying, "Nikki is leaving Victor!". We laugh, smugly, because WE have REAL jobs and REAL lives. Well,...let's rethink that for a minute. If that…Continue

Dan Miller must have read my mind. What perfect timing to read his blog.
As some of you know, I was recently laid-off by the organization I gave nearly 32 years of my life too. I am 56 years-old and between my age, health and spending years in a job that wasn't advancing my skills towards modern techniques with asset management and purchasing, I basically became a master of nothing.

Most people drowning in debt would be stressed out. Panic would be the normal agenda. Granted, the day I was informed of the bad news my head was spinning at times. But the relief to finally have the opportunity to develop my own business overshadows debt at the moment.

One of the best decisions I made early on in my blogging career was to join the forums at 48Days.net. I discovered the forum by purchasing Dan Miller's best-selling book, "48 Days to The Work You Love". The book guided me to visit to Dan's featured site- 48days.com and it was there I learned of the opportunities to connect with other people at 48days.net.…Continue

On December 27, 2012, Heath Miller was voted the Most Valuable Player on the Steelers football team by his teammates. It is the first time in the history of the Steelers' team history that a tight end received this recognition. Miller didn't win this title because of one or two spectacular plays, but because of what he did on every play during the season.
Heath's position as "Tight End" is not one of the more glorious positions in football; they aren't typically making the huge…

2013 – The New Year
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year. It is hard to believe that we are at the end of 2012. There is a lot of wonder and anxiety going into 2013. We have the fiscal cliff we are facing, struggling economy, the tragedy in Connecticut and basically a divided country. I wished I could say that I could solve those problems overnight, but no one can and a quick fix usually sets us up for a future failure. I believe…Continue

We shoot someone's hope, dream and possible future down quickly. If everyone followed our own fearful advice, there'd be no electricity, surgeons, automobiles, medicine, clean water or technical device to read this blog.
