What Are Your Holiday Traditions?

The holidays are more about traditions and making memories than any store bought gifts...The tradition of celebrating the Christmas/holiday season with family and friends and singing your favorite carols at your place of worship or in your neighborhood...The tradition of making cookies or handmade gifts to give and sending Christmas cards to family and friends...The tradition of volunteering/donating to help spread holiday cheer to…

Introducing a Circle of Creatives!

For the next few weeks I want to brag on some of my friends. My hubby and I have been blessed to travel the world and meet amazing people with amazing talent!

Today I want to introduce you to Jason Catron. He is a friend who lives here in Nashville, but we met at a retreat in Arizona. We just happened to be staying in the same little cottage (casita). We found out that we were both from Nashville and decided to stay in touch. Now we have a… Continue

GREEN Tip of the Day December 8, 2010

Instead of "bows" made out of ribbon, how about "bows" made out of paper money ($1, $5, if you're a big spender $10, $20)...Start with a crisp, new (or nearly new) bill...Simply fold the paper money into a fan, tie the center with a twist tie, spread the folds apart and attach to the gift...FYI Paper money can be ironed on a dry heat setting to make it look like new.

My wife has a television show idea that she wants to target to the local stations. Do you have any recommendations on how to pitch the idea?

Scott

GREEN Tip of the Day December 7, 2010

If you want that "frosted" look on your windows for the holiday season, mix one tablespoon of Epsom salts with one cup of beer...Brush the mixture onto your windows with a small paintbrush...When it's time to clean the "frost" off of the windows, use ammonia and water.

If I can do it, you can do it. Get "free publicity".

Passing through west Texas, I was able to visit one of the stations where I used to work and share a few words about the book.

I am teaching a tele-class on how to get "free publicity" for your product or service later this month on Free Agent Academy. if you would like to call-in and attend as my guest, let me know by Dec…

Keep failing! I'll eat your pie, turkey!

It's been 2 years since i've had a full time J-O-B. I have worked part time and been able to keep my benefits going by the earnings offsetting the benefits. As a student, this has been a great help.

Our pastor asked early this year who had a terrible 2009, and everyone raised their hands; but me. I told her later that '09 was the best year I've ever had.

I've discovered the treasure that is contract work, and I actually make more money driving to work than I…

Need some direction.

Hello,

I listen to 48days podcast and joined this community. I have had alot of ideas in life and have acted on some. My wife didn't support me in any of them. I have lost alot and right now, I look at the stuff I did with a passion and it just disgusts me. I was buying real estate and was doing quite well, now not so good. I feel I need to head in a new direction, but am sort of lost and (I think) afraid. I know I cannot give up. That gets me a bit frustrated. Anyone have…

GREEN Tip of the Day December 6, 2010

We all love the look and the aroma of live pine wreaths and garland, but we can do without the shedding of the needles...To keep needles from falling, spritz the greenery with your favorite hair spray right after your purchase...The hair spray will keep the moisture in the needles...Problem solved!

Turning $10 into a profitable charity

In January of 1999 a local church gave out envelopes filled with random amounts of money. Those who received them were instructed to use them for the Lord (Matthew 25). One steward used her entire $10 to buy chocolate to drizzle over homemade caramel corn which she sold to family and friends. At the end of the year she returned over $800. A decade latter this $10 has grown into a thriving business called Taste of Heaven (www.drizzle.org) that supports… Continue
