This week let’s look at a web site that allows the user to act like Google: Botspot.com
. Google, and other search engines, use bots that scour the 5 billion web sites that make up the World Wide Web (that’s different from the internet). Those bots read various websites and categorize them according to various algorithms. While botspot.com doesn’t let individual users search and rank all 5 billion web sites for the world to see, it does allow… Continue

Procrastination….. hmmmmm, so why do we put things off? We know things need to be done. We know we have priorities and responsibilities; things that need to be taken care of, right? So why is it so difficult for a lot of us to just get up and take care of what needs to be taken care of?
Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Well in reality what’s simple is probably the fact that I could probably come up with a million reasons of why not to do something, versus why I should do it.… Continue

For many people, that is.
from the New York Post blew my mind.
"The four-year college degree has come to cost too much and prove too little. It's now a bad deal for the average student, family, employer, professor and taxpayer."
As a home educator, curious parents will often ask, "what about college?"… Continue

"How you spend your time is more important than how you spend your money. Money mistakes can be corrected, but time is gone forever." ~ David Norris
In a world that tugs us in every which direction, that slowly drains our time, steals our emotions, and leaves us for dead, how do we make heads or tails of all our goals. Most people get overwhelmed with the burden of choosing among:
* Biblical values
* Worldly values
* Personal values and… Continue

I share in my weekly video blog a 6 minute recap from my message on Conviction. The Bible calls it faith, but the true meaning of the word is conviction - belief with the predominate idea of trust (or confidence) whether in God or in Christ, springing from faith in the same
In the Book of Mark the scriptures demonstrate that those searching for an answer to there need had conviction and they received the miracle they were looking for.
Please take a few minutes to… Continue

Four years ago Steve told me he was writing a small e-book on creative ways to buy a car. I saw him last week at a seminar and asked him about that book. He very excitedly told me he was still working on it but hoped to have it out this year. This Year??? How could it take 4 years to create a 40-page book on buying a car? I guess he’s still getting it “right.”
But that’s a trap I see many people fall into. They spend so much time getting their idea or product or service perfected… Continue

I set up a booth today for the North American Christian Convention that begins tomorrow. I am so excited about this opportunity and can't wait to see what I learn from it!
Going in I had an idea of how I wanted to do a presentation/slide show, but really had no idea of how to make it happen. So I took a shot and posted a discussion on MediaMoneyMakers. Andy Traub emailed me, connected with me on the phone, and SKYPEd me right through it!
Sometimes it's just that… Continue

What? You've never heard of this model? Well probably not, because I just made it up. But if you've got chiluns I bet you're familiar with the methods of The Borg Model
But first....for my non-Star Trek buddies.
The Borg was featured in several Next Generation episodes and was about an evil entity bent on dominating the universe. (Which, minus the evil entity part, can describe one of my children, but I… Continue

“Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day. He killed an Egyptian, an impressive man. Now the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, but he went down to him with a club and snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear.” – 2 Samuel 23:20-21

This may/may not be what this community is designed for, but still I have to tell all my friends on here:
I am proud to say that yesterday, 28 years ago, I married the most beautiful lady that God has ever created! He has blessed me with a great wife and two healthy sons. And that, in my opinion, is a major sign that I am "living life to it's fullest!"
And on this day I would like to say: Thank you Lord. And thank you Gloria for putting up with me, and for the best 28 years of… Continue

I've long contended that most people shut down and die sometime between 5th and 8th grade. Those middle school years, in my opinion, are when the pressures to conform are greatest. Hormones are surging and the sorting process that takes place through the mechanism of institutionalized schooling is becoming more apparent.
God forbid you should stand out and be different. Shut up, color in the lines and be on time. Any differences are promptly met with ridicule or a… Continue

It's a proven fact: Content = Traffic = Leads
If you have a lot of content you'll have a lot of leads. It's as simple as that.
This is the one thing that ALL marketing gurus have in common:
They all give away massive value by creating content
The only problem is, most people have a really hard time coming up with content to create.
Once you have a blog what do you put on it?
What kind of videos do you put… Continue

Has anyone started a business teaching Dave's stuff?
I have pulled my self out of debt with his teachings and love his way. I have introduced his stuff to so many people and feel it's a big blessing, but I don't know how to go about turning this passion I have for this stuff into income. Any thoughts?

Have an I wired child who has the typical I wired impulsive nature when it comes to change? They love change right? They’re real chameleons they can change both their emotion and their focus in a moments notice. Well that ability to embrace change is a great building block for success IF they learn how to use good judgment for the changes they make.
In this weeks my wired style podcast we arm parents with a tool to help ‘teach’ their sometimes scattered but always charming I wired… Continue

One of the first things I do in working with small businesses is to make sure that they have a good backup procedure in place for their computer. Many times I find that they do nothing to protect their data or only backup occasionally. Fortunately, most haven't experienced any data loss. (Although, I have been told some very expensive horror stores - kind of like the Mozy commercials you see on TV.) Up until recently I have used a firewire drive for my Mac and an external hard drive for my PC,… Continue
