I started to write this wonderfully brilliant blog to share with my readers, however, I deleted the whole darn thing as these quotes from Mama Lynn seems to sum up perfectly what I was trying to convey:

sometimes i wished...
sometimes...sometimes i wished id had a nice family, grew up with the social norms as a healthy family would...but then, would i have a real need for God,if i had everything else?
im not saying that family keeps us from God,but,if weve had all the good stuff without a knowledge of where the good stuff really comes from, would He have been able to make that much of a difference in a life thats, well, already together, persay?
i still long for that family, thought that might be the…

Interview with an Alcoholic part 2
Question:
I have heard from so many that they had to hit rock bottom, which it sounded like you did as well, before they decided to change their behaviors/lives and leave the addiction. What do you think has to be the starting point for recovery? Does every person have to hit their own rock bottom?...more

freedom isnt that easy...
when it feels like life has been going right on by..while everyone else seems to be enjoying the ride...i am reminded that God is still here, and everything i learned to believe...never was the truth...
too many dreams and nightmares have passed, and im reminded that i grew up in a home whos patterns were not the truth...im beginning to understand...what they did to me,never had a thing to do with me...
from a childs mind, taking their impressions so literally, had no way of…

3 Things That Can Derail Your Success While Self-Employed
Recently, Claudia and I were talking about how our shortcomings are magnified when self-employed. Now that I’ve started my own business, I can no longer rely on the structure of a job to push me through the day. If I’m not handling something well, it will derail my whole day.
This is something that I have to be very vigilant about or it creeps up on me nearly everyday.…

I am enthusiastically happy to be a part of this online community.
Today I provide financially for my little three person family. My wife and little 9 month old girl are peacefully sleeping. I am checking in with an online substitute teaching job system. Yesterday I went back to high school. At this particular school the teachers were prepared with lesson plans--that I met, the teenagers full of promise. High school experiences have not seemed to have changed much since the 1980s, not at this school anyway.

'Christian'...doesnt seem to mean what it used to...
after having read a dear friends posting,i was moved...oftentimes we dont feel what others feel,we dont see what others see...how many people right under our nose feel quite alone 'humanly'?
it doesnt seem to matter anymore if we call ourselves 'Christian'. its how we are with each other that makes the difference, not who we say we are. but then,im beside myself because i have not known how to be with others that would be 'Christian', and yet,i do just fine with non-christians. i know…

Victory in Heartache: Grieving Losses
Many people I know are grieving – the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, the loss of physical abilities, the loss of innocence. Grief is just another word for heartache and we have all experienced heartache at some point in our lives. How do you move past inevitable heartaches?
For me, it has been helpful to identify the true source of my grief. For example, when I’ve lost a loved one, I miss the contact with them – hugs, conversations and laughter, but most of all…

The Power of Letting Go
I had a meeting today with a potential client today. Actually, they were former clients, we had just never met.
The gig was for my social marketing business. Their business? Mexican restaurant. A really good one, at that.
How come we never met before if they were previous clients, you…

Sometimes God gets your attention in subtle, soft ways. Other times, He may allow (or cause) your entire foundation to quake.

I am very intrigued with the idea of residual income. I am working on designing step-by-step watercolor lessons in pamphlet form that I can print and sell to aspiring artists. There are a few artists doing this, but not a many. I think it has potential. Even better will be when I discover how I can sell them from my website, etsy or some other venue as a downloadable .pdf file. I won't have to handle anything and have no expense. I'm very excited about this idea.

How do I look? How do you "look"?
Saturday, upon arriving home from helping a friend tile a back splash, I pulled into a well cleared driveway and sidewalk free from snow and ice...compliments of my neighbor who did this in exchange for me fixing their furnace earlier in the day. As I pulled into my parking spot I noticed something dangling in the small tree I had…Added by Kevin Troupe on January 25, 2012 at 7:48am — 2 Comments
A Season of Reflection and Change
Two and a half years ago my life was at a crossroads. Dealing with an elderly parent who has Alzheimer's I never imagined the journey God would take me on. Not wanting to lose precious time with my Mother, my choice was to resign from a secure position held for twelve years. It was not an easy decision in light of the economic downturn that loomed over our country at the time and still looms today. People thought I was crazy for even considering the idea. There was a time in my career…
