Profile Information
- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
- I am currently reading Dan's "No More Dreaded Mondays" and it truly, truly resonates with me. I decided to take a break to check out his website. So here I am!
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- I am a totally burnt-out high school teacher. I have been in the field of Education since the spring of 1990. There are some things I do enjoy about teaching but there are other components of teaching that I could absolutely do without.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- I am going to be a full-time writer and I'm also planning to develop and present workshops/seminars that encourage people, especially teens and young adults, to pursue work about which they are truly passionate. (I realize I must first do this myself!)
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- In my personal life, I would like to get physically fit and have more fulfillment and a lot more fun in my work life. I believe that I have allowed the fact that I really, really, really dislike my current job to negatively impact my relationship with myself and with my family. I am currently taking an online class called "Listen to Your Heart and Success Will Follow." On two of our recent HW assignments, we had to complete Needs and Values Assessments. These assessments were very enlightening and will prove to be invaluable as I pursue my vocation instead of just another occupation.
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- I write well and I am also idealistic, perceptive, empathetic and honest; I like to motivate and inspire others and I get a charge when people answer their callings and use their gifts, no matter what they might be. (And these are the descriptions of people who fit my personality type from another of my favorite books called "Do What You Are"--I readily see possibilities that don't presently exist; I give thoughtful consideration to all potential career opportunities; I express myself well, especially after thinking things through ahead of time; and I demonstrate motivation and commitment to causes I believe in.)

- My ex-husband and I self-published an inspirational novel called "First Love: What Would You Give Up To Keep Yours?" In the "near future," I want to develop and present workshops that inspire and motivate people, especially teens and young adults, to find work that fits their personalities, natural abilities, and giftings. Work that fills them with joy and peace. I would also like to develop a curriculum that reinforces the importance of matching your life's work to your personality, strengths, abilities, and God-given talents.
