"Heather--the book Platform is written by Michael Hyatt, retired CEO of Thomas Nelson publishing. I believe the book deals with the idea that no matter how great your product/idea, you need a platform so others can see your products. Hyatt addresses…"
"That's exciting, Heather! I've sent my stuff out to big bloggers in the hopes that they'll use it or talk about it (I create journals from interior content to sewing and binding to exterior design). It's always…"
"Billie--it sounds like you've got some amazing opportunities coming up--so exciting! I think I would want to ask the marketing/fundraising folks what they think are the vital elements in getting people to participate.
Your show sounds…"
"I was reading Entrepreneur magazine last week and came across this Seth Godin quote I wanted to share with you as a bit of encouragement to keep going as artists:
"Icarus. The original myth had two parts.…"
"This is wonderful Billie! Have you checked Etsy to see what other artists are charging for comparable items? It might help you establish a pricing range. And congratulations on finding a medium of artwork that thrills you--yay!…"
"Hello Billie! The calendars are fun, aren't they?! You should upload photos so we can see yours. I usually leave the 6 pages loose so people can hang all 6 at the same time if they want. But when joining them together I…"
"Here ya go Chris, Billie, Brad, and more! The calendar has my 'Atelier Joie' name in light gray, which you could easily remove or add your own name. Some of those fonts are non-standard, so they may not read right on your…"
"Yes Brad--do it! I happen to make a few calendars, and I think you might be able to put one together more easily than you think. I typed up a file in Microsoft Word knowing that the end result would be 6" x 11". I put two…"
How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Four years ago my mother sent me the book "48 Days to the Work You Love" audio book. I have recently completed my Master's program and am looking to be engaged in work that suits my passions. I started listening to the book again, and then purchased "No More Dreaded Mondays" to help generate a new mindset and ideas.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Post College Intern at a local church.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I would love to explore my creative side in making products that bring functional joy to people (cards, calendars, quilts, mobiles, etc.). I would be interested in taking this idea and implementing it in a non-profit organization that specializes in young women exiting a life of human trafficking.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I was told as a child to give up my dream of becoming an artist because I couldn't make a living with it. Yet that did nothing to stamp out my creativity and desire to create. I would love to continue my personal and spiritual growth while creating, interacting, and supporting myself.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am creative and organized. I interact well with small numbers of people. I "shepherd" well in that I listen and empathize, allowing someone to feel and express. Along with that I encourage people--I feel it is also highly important for those leaders who pour into others to be poured into so they are not drained.
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I am interested in creating cards, calendars, journals, quilts, mobiles and other items to bring joy into daily lives of people. I am also adept at going "shoulder to shoulder" with others, offering encouragement, counseling, and a listening ear to convey that individuals are valuable in whatever circumstance they find themselves.

Welcome to 48days. As you get familiar with all the opportunities on the site, I hope it will help you clarify your goals, learn, and achieve your dreams of success. I have found the people who participate on the website are amazing, insightful individuals who are open and willing to lend a hand.
I can relate with being told to ditch my dreams for something practical. Thankfully, everything is fixable so now I'm tweaking things so I'm following my dreams.
Just noticed you joined 48Days.net -- WELCOME! It's a great site with tons of great people.
If you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out the following groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place.
One other thing…I want to offer you a gift. You can download my FREE e-resource entitled Goal-Setting That Actually Works! by joining the REAL Success E-Zine community at www.liveitforward.com. It's a growing and dynamic community of people striving to live WAY BEYOND their average in the most important roles of their lives. I think you'll get a ton out of both the Goal-Setting product and the REAL Success E-Zine. And again, both are absolutely free.
