How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about this site from the Dave Ramsey show. I would like to learn how to start and run a business.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I’m currently looking for work. I was let go from Freescale semiconductor during a 10% work force cut.
And then...what is the goal/dream you are striving for regarding your work life?
I would love to work in a field that was all about entertainment. People having fun because of the service I provided.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I would like to learn how to run a business in a short time. It looks like you have to spend a lot of time in school to get going. It would be nice to work with someone in person I think.
What would you say are your core competencies? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Having fun or making fun of most any opportunity or occasion. Love to tinker with things. Ability to set up and operate specialized and sophisticated automated / manual manufacturing equipment.
Short Cycle Manufacturing
Cause & Effect problem Analysis
TPM Total Productive Maintenance
problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.
SPC - Statistical Process Control
Understanding of electronic/mechanical disciplines
Process Development
Thanks for being a prat of this community. Welcome, Thomas.
Let me know how I can be of help to you. I see you are into setting up manufacturing equipment, I am into biodegradable fluid biz.
God bless you,
Ruel

Man those high ride bikers are a riot - I love it. My oldest son was heavily involved in BMX riding back in the initial stages. I was a regional director and built the fist over and under BMX track in the US up in Bowling Green, KY on the old Beech Bend Raceway oval track. I love the radical modifications I see on the site. Is the "looking for work" solution right under your nose?

Hey Thomas,
You are in the right place to find an open community of folks who are all working to start their own businesses. You Do NOT have to go to school to start your own business. But you are right that working with someone is helpful.
Drop by the Plan Your Startup | Startup Your Plan group and have a look. It is my goal with that group to break down the myth that your are talking about, the myth that it takes some kind of mystical knowledge to start a business. It doesn't! What it takes most of all is passion! I This morning I started a discussion called "What makes a successful Startup"
looking at your list of core competencies it looks like you are a quality guy. are you Six Sigma certified? I am a Green Belt with the ASQ.
