"Unless you think you'll be completely pressed for time, and if you are planning on using an editor anyway, I would wait to ask. The reason I say this is that with my book (that just came out!) my original foreword writer had to back out and I…"
"You might send a note with the manuscript that lets them know that it's still being edited. Also, put "unedited draft" in the footer of the manuscript (or across the page as a watermark). That way they know it's still being…"
As I was perusing other questions on here related to endorsements, I ran across something I hadn't thought about: Do you think I need to have the cover done before sending the review copy for endorsements? I saw a couple of people…"
"No need to wait.
Put no more than a two week time limit for people to get back if they agree. If two weeks doesn't work ask for a deadline date from them. People usually mean well but with no time limit will let things go until the last…"
I've got a timing question. My goal is to have my book out in mid-November. My manuscript is about ready to be sent to an editor. I also need to start asking people for endorsements at some point.Should I wait until the editing is done and have that version of the manuscript ready to send with endorsement requests, or is it better to make the request sooner so those I ask have more time to respond? The edit will be primarily for spelling, grammar, and flow/consistency (which I've already done…See More
"Wow, Cam, I'm so sorry your family is going through this. (I just saw all of it now, as I've been dealing with family health stuff myself over the last few weeks.) You & your family are in my prayers."
"I agree with the above comments as well. A few typos may be OK, especially if it's something that's easy to miss (comma vs. period for example). But the more there are, or the more egregious they are, the more it takes me out of the text…"
How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I'd been listening to Family from the Heart (Cliff Ravenscraft), and he referenced Dan and 48 Days several times, so I checked it out, and I've been listening to the podcast for around a year now. I've even submitted a couple of questions!
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Employed full time in a job I tolerate, working part time as a travel agent.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I want to work for myself most likely, but I am working my way through 48 Days now to see what that may look like. I know it will involve the travel work still, as well as writing and speaking, possibly life coaching.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My wife and I are trying to have kids. Also, I'm learning to play guitar.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:

Randy, glad you joined the Embracing Introvertedness group. I know who I need to talk to when my girls get a little older. My wife has the dream of going to Florida to see a mouse. Hope you find the group helpful.
Thanks for joining Strengthen My Spiritual Life and for all of our ongoing dialog on this site. I feel honored that you have joined our group and look forward to hearing/reading more about how I can help you.
As the 'leader', or launcher of Strengthen My Spiritual Life, I'd love it if you could take a few minutes to fill out a short survey (linked here) to let me know how I can best help you out on our shared journey together, and/or jump into the group by commenting on discussions and/or creating your own and sharing your thoughts, feelings, and reactions as they relate to anything spiritual in our lives.
Welcome to the community as we move forward into finding and creating work that we love, and thanks again for joining us in Strengthen My Spiritual Life!
Good to hear from you and I look forward to our call next week. What is the best phone number and email address for you please?
I love your idea about sharing the work you've already done. I would recommend that you join us in my group and sharing sharing right there. Doing the same in the other groups you've already joined is a great idea as well.
If you would, please email us your questionnaire by Friday so I get a better understanding of where you are. You don't have to know all of the answers. Just do your best.
