How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Followed a link on LinkedIn, I forget whose though... lol!
I hope to get support and advice for all of my entrepreneurial whims.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently working part-time delivering pizzas while going back to school for an Associates Degree. I already have a Bachelors which I obtained in 1990.
I was laid off in 2004. My job was kind of specialized, and even though I suppose I had some transferable skills, I really wanted to remain in the same field. However, there weren't any other companies with that kind of opportunity in my area. So I decided to go back to school and try to reinvent myself.
I have dreamed of owning my own business for decades.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I would like several streams of income/profit centers, including businesses that I started on my own.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
Aside from starting a few businesses, I would love to travel to Ireland one day. I would also like to write a book and get something published, whether its that book or something else.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
"I know Sam's Club has a vending program. It goes way beyond gumballs, well mostly into food and beverage, not necessarily toys/doodads though.
Check either at your local club or their website. Sorry- haven't been to Costco or any other…"
"I, too, purchased Sierra's course quite some years ago. Unfortunately, I never did anything with it because the need for immediate (within a few weeks, ie paycheck) income was more pressing. I paid alot more than $40 for it, though. The book…"

"Pete, there are lots of solutions for you on WordPress which would only cost you the $7 a month for private hosting and the $10 a year for a domain name. That being said, I'm 100% confident you could embed a Google Form on a Google Site that…"
I'm a wordpress guy and I would have a solution for you if you used Wordpress. I haven't used the Intuit software before, but this option should work as long as you can use HTML code. I found an article on the Google blog that may…"
Hello Everyone, I'm hoping this is the best group to post this request. I'm trying to put together a fully functioning website that tells everyone what I have to offer AND offer the ability for visitors/potential clients to submit their information by filling in boxes, indicating via checkbox/radio button what their situation is, adding any additional comments, then hitting submit. I would then like that information either emailed to me or stored in a database somewhere. Sounds simple,…See More
I checked out your site and it looks great!
One thought I had was similar to David's: selling advertising space in your newsletter and website. I was also going to suggest goat's milk, but I see now that you are already…"
I would definitely highlight the assembly aspect! And I agree with the rest who suggested the responsibility issues. Is there a general liability waiver one can use in TN that you could employ in your business?
Sounds like you're under the misconception that you have to have just one career/job/source of income. Have you explored pursuing multiple ideas? Author Robert G. Allen wrote Multiple Streams of Income and Multiple Streams of Internet…"
I, too, have played around with the idea of starting a concierge/errand running business... several times. It seems like such a natural avenue to pursue: it's pretty much something we are already doing, so why not get paid to do it? Well,…"
About an hour ago, I was Googling how to get experience as a Database Administrator (to satiate my wife's demand that I find a REAL J-O-B upon graduation if not before) and I ended up reading an article about it on eHow.comThe article I read wasn't all that helpful, but I started clicking around on various related article links and did a couple of other non-related searches and eventually came across the theme of making money writing articles for eHow. None of them claimed you would become rich…See More
There are lots of choices when it comes to where to start a blog: Here on 48days (there should be a link on your profile page or there is also a link up top under Community), or you could do it at Wordpress.com, or on…"

Pete - Welcome to 48Days.net. And welcome to another Buckeye. I grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Ohio State way back in the Woody Hayes days.

Just create a clear plan for what your business would look like - and then a timeline to make it happen. Lots of others here have done just that.
