If you have not seen any of the MasterChef television show, I will tell you a little about it. For one its brash and vulgar but it will teach many important lessons. So, apologies to my Christian friends who will not watch this for the vulgarity and the general principle of it. I’m not encouraging you to watch this by no means. I’m simply going to point out some very Biblical wisdom from this.

Hey, recently I found out the library was signing people up for a poetry reading. I did what anyone here in this group would do. I went and did it. Here is the link, it is off Adobe Flash so I couldn't copy it but enjoy it and let me know what you thought of it.... Thank you Washington Public Library, I do appreciate you allowing me this opportunity to gain some courage…

Rob Clinton said… Nate, thanks for the comment and no apologizes needed. We're all on this boat and moving forward in our dreams. Let's keep building this vessel and making awesome things happen...
Best to you!
Rob Clinton said… Nate,
It sounds like you were pretty offended. Please know, that nothing was personal, wherever you have system in place, you have to have guidelines to live by or people start taking advantage and abusing a free gift.
I don’t just pick on you; whenever I see someone that may need some guidance I just send a message and try to help coach people in the direction of where this blog and community is trying to go, and hopefully they take is as “so-noted” or “lesson learned”, and not turn it into a victim thing… Sorry if that crossed you in that way; it wasn’t intended to…
Some people try to take the “free thinkers and rule bending” concept, and change it’s meaning to “I can step on anybody in here because it’s a free country”… I’m sure that’s not what you were doing, but please understand we have to be prepared for that, so guidelines do exist…
And about the religion thing; this community is obviously a Christ centered community. Whether we say it or not, Christ is obviously present, but if someone comes in here promoting and commercializing religion in a self-serving manner, it’s starts to disrupt things, and people start to take on a whole different image of what we’re about… We’re about serving each other; and growing together in our endeavors… You’ll see MLM promoters, or Evanglists show up out of nowhere from time to time promoting heavily for a short time, and then “poof” their gone… Made no positive impact, but may have just shifted the perception about what we’re about for someone else.
This site is about growing together as a community through the vision of 48days, and that’s what we strive to do…
I hope this helps. If you have more questions about it, please let me know.

Rob Clinton said… Hi Nate,
This is a shout out from a fellow blogger! I’m excited you have something your passionate about that you’re promoting here on 48days.net and your consistency is definitely strong. That’s what it takes if you’re trying to build your brand and get recognized in your market. Many people use the blogging forum here for building their brands ‘or’ getting their feet with the feel of blogging, and connecting with the community. I trust that you might fall in either of those categories, and know there is a community here to help you and build relationships with in your pursuit.
I just wanted to pass on some helpful hints to make sure you get maximum potential here. Instead of posting one link blogs or multiple posts at once, you might want to either try leaving more content or all of your content on the blogs with a link that goes back to your site that gives people the chance to engage with you more if they connect with your message.
You may want to bring the frequency of your posts back to a max once a day for the blogs. First, posting so many at once drowns out all the other bloggers who deserve to be heard, and also if it appears to be too promotional for people and they haven’t connected with you as a person yet, then people here are going to turn the other way pretty quickly.
Hope this helps you adjust and get yourself maximum exposure but yet very effectively; just use that advice from here on out to help you move forward. If you need help I can help you post so it benefits you and everyone else; just let me know.
As you continue pursuing your blogging passion for butchering, we want to make sure that we steer you in the right direction with using the blogs and forums. Be sure to go to http://www.48days.net/page/get-started and watch the video Tutorials, and in
there you can watch a segment on how to make your Blogs and Forums really
count!
We’re all growing together, and yes this is always a work in progress for us, it’s a powerful site with tons of resources and the awesome thing is we have people everywhere ready to help you move in the right direction. I'm here for you if you need anything, just ask... If you still have questions about how to write and post blogs after you watch videos, let me know and I'll help you...
These were just some quick points I wanted to run by you, and hope this
helps you get going, drive more traffic, establish community with the other
bloggers and readers, and build that passion.
Thanks so much, and looking forward to seeing your successes!

Also, just so you'll have them for reference... Here are written blogging
guidelines:
Because we are a growing and distinctive internet community, it is important
to remember the following guidelines when you post to your blog:
Share your business ideas, ask for assistance and encourage others. A rule
of thumb: For each blog you post, comment on 2-3 others' blogs. The
comments don't have to lengthy; remember the focus here is to be an
encouragement to help one another. (And besides, don't you love getting
comments?)
Refrain from blatant religious or political stuff. We want to keep our
focus on business and entrepreneurship. True, sometimes these topics come
up but we do not wish to detract from our primary focus.
Raw business promotion. In email that's called SPAM. Yes, let's talk about
your business and ideas to help it. But simply posting ads and links with
no other community involvement will result in a deleted post.
