How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Listening to Dave Ramsey. I hope to get some good advice on how to start working for myself, and to get positive feedback on some of my ideas, family tends to think they are a little far fetched and ridiculous, but they are still very supportive none the less.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Employee. I generate a few extra dollars on my own.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I want to work for myself so I can spend plenty of time with my family, be debt free, and gain lots of wealth to be able to give back to the less fortunate.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I want to have another child and be the best Dad and best husband a man could possibly be.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Well, I'm wired pretty weird. I'm an electrical engineer but not really excited about it. I love to draw, and I love sports, especially MMA (mixed martial arts). I don't know what I have to offer the world but I'm hoping I can figure it out with everyone's help!
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I love drawing and a neat little niche I have found (from the help of a college art professor) is creating what I like to call "WordTraits". Simply put, they are portraits using words as shading. They are great for any gift, and very unique. If you are looking for a good conversation piece this is it! All you have to do is provide a picture of what you want or a discription and what word(s) you would ike me to use. The farther away from the picture you are the more it looks like just an ordinary drawing, put the closer you get the more amazing it becomes!

My partner Sheila Tidwell and I had dinner a couple of weeks ago at The Miller's house. They showed us the "wordtrait" you did for them of their granddaughter Clara. Absolutely beautiful and totally unique. They were blown away, as were we. How do we know that Dan & Joanne were blown away? Because they told us so. I especially liked how you did the eyebrow with the words "curious". IMG_0788.JPG Keep us the great work doing what you are so good at. Your talent is a gift indeed. Thanks for sharing it with the world.
Thanks for the encouragement and offer to help me out, Matt. I just noticed that Athens is very close to my largest customer, Tiffin Motorhomes in Red Bay. I may be coming out that way in the months ahead. Also, I am working on a blog. My daughter will be helping me create the site, so I'll be sharing that as it develops. God bless.
This is a great place to meet great folks and share interesting ideas about finding meaningful work.
I've been a member here for about 1 year and have gotten a lot of value from it. Hope you receive the same value.
If I can help you in your pursuit of meaningful work in any way, please let me know. I'd like to offer you a free gift if you subscribe to our 'Pursuing Meaningful Work' newsletter. I'll give you a free copy of our recent book 'Finding Your True North - A Quickstart Guide to finding a Career You'll Love'.
Hope you enjoy the community and find value in it.
PS Also, if you didn't check out the free e-resource I offer entitled Goal-Setting That Actually Works! ($47 Value) to those who join the REAL Success E-Zine community (also free) at www.liveitforward.com, be sure to do so. I think you'll get a ton out of both resources.
Just noticed you joined 48Days.net -- WELCOME! It's a great site with tons of great people.
If you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out the following groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place.
One other thing…I want to offer you a gift. You can download my FREE e-resource entitled Goal-Setting That Actually Works! by joining the REAL Success E-Zine community at www.liveitforward.com. It's a growing and dynamic community of people striving to live WAY BEYOND their average in the most important roles of their lives. Welcome to 48days. This website has been a valuable resource for me to help clarify my goals, learn, and meet new people. I hope it does the same for you.
Your "word traits" drawings are a neat idea. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before. I enjoy drawing portraits, but I'm not sure I'd be able to get the shading just right using words. That is incredible.
If you are interested in blogging I have a 30 blogs in 30 days challenge for November. I'm just getting the group started and you are welcome to join if you are interested (http://www.48days.net/group/30blogs30days).
