Hey guys,I've been an avid home brewer for about a year and a half now and I totally love it. I find myself researching information and thinking about opening a small (7-15 barrel system) brewery in my area often these days. Does anyone have experience with this type of business? Profile Information
- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
- I first heard of "48 Days To The Work You Love" from a fellow musician and friend. A couple weeks later, I heard Dave Ramsey talk about it in the "Careers" section of his Financial Peace University. The first thing I did was download the Podcast, as I am more of a listener rather than a reader, which then brought me to the website. I've since bought 48 Days To The Work You Love, Wisdom Meets Passion, and listen to Dan's podcast regularly.
I hope to get the support I'll need to live my passion of music and leave my 9-5. From what I've seen, I'll definitely get what I need here.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- I left the life of touring full-time for a more stable future (stable = working a 9-5 that I hate). I'm currently an Account Executive for Aramark Uniform Services.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- I've been playing drums for 12 years and I used to tour full-time in a somewhat well-known band. My goal is to become a Worship Director at a church or....... open a small brewery, haha.. There's a bit of a contrast there but it's true!
I haven't really seen myself working for a church in the past but being a Worship Director would combine my love of people and music together.
Aside from that, I've been making beer at home for about a year and a half and I absolutely love it. I never thought anything would come close to drumming but it truly has. I find myself researching about opening a small brewery often and I'm in the beginning steps of writing out a business plan to see where it leads me.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- My Spiritual goals consist of: reading the entire Bible and leading a Life Group at my church. I want to become an all-around, excellent musician rather than just a drummer, become an award-winning home brewer, learn French, travel with my wife, and learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu just to name a few!
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- I'm a high "I" on the DISC model. I love people, communicate well, I'm a good listener, and I'm a dreamer.
I'll tell you what I'm not as well: I'm not organized, I don't plan manage my time very well, and I don't like conflict.
