Justin Lukasavige said… Thanks, Lee. I appreciate your insight. The group approval process is lead up by Rob Clinton. Among other things, they look at the activity of the groups and had deleted a bunch about 6-8 months ago. We want an active site, and if things are sitting dormant without activity, it's hard for new members to figure out where to plug in.
Justin Lukasavige said… Thanks for replying, Lee. And you're absolutely right. You've been great on this site, in fact one of our top people. If we only let our top people promote their stuff however, we become hypocrites. People begin to wonder why some people can promote their stuff and not others.
It might be worth exploring a new group where people can post links to their free stuff. When I think through that however, I don't think I'd join, just to get notified of free eBooks. That's my opinion and not that of the community, which is why we should perhaps explore it.
Would you join a group like that? And I'd like you to think of it in terms of a person NOT posting something. Because we'll have no shortage of people posting their resources. But will we have people honestly interested in being a member in order to download the next free eBook?
At the end of the day, we want the forums to be an active place where discussions are happening. We don't get that if people are only posting links to their downloads.
I'd love your feedback here, Lee. And thanks for understanding.
Justin Lukasavige said… Hey, Lee, thanks for posting on 48days.net.
The forums are specifically a place to ask questions and get advice from folks and we ask that you stick to getting feedback and avoid promoting your stuff. Your book looks great, but if we encouraged everyone to do the same, the forums would be filled with links instead of great discussions.
A better way to promote your book would be to reach out directly to the friends you've already connected with here and let them know about your book.
To avoid being deleted in the future, please remember the forums are a place to ask honest questions and get guidance from your peers. If you have questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Justin Lukasavige
