Finding the Work You Love after the Military

This is a concept I've been struggling to answer for nearly 9 years now. Upon leaving the Service, I thought I had it all figured out. I had just completed my Masters degree, been hired by a well-respected company, fast tracked through the training program...and found myself wondering why I wasn't satisfied. 4 companies (of which I was the managing partner of 1) and 8 years later and I'm still struggling with the same question...what do I want to do now that I'm all grown up?

Hi Kevin,

I wanted to reach out to you about an opportunity for vets.

I'm putting together a coaching 1-on-1 program for 5 people that are serious about starting their business. Do you know of some vets that could benefit from this type of coaching? There would be an "application" to help ensure their commitment to the process.

I am offering this at a substantially reduced investment to their business...but only to 5 people.

People will qualify if:

- They are struggling with what steps to take in starting a business.

- They are trying to determine if their business idea will work

- Are unsure of how to spend the funds they do have on business resources.

- Would like help in developing a business plan or value proposition

- They are willing to do the leg work and be coached using skype or phone calls.

If you feel this might be of interest to you or someone you know, let me know and I can shoot you the application to send out to them.

I would also be happy to discuss any questions you might have. Thanks, I look forward to the opportunity.

Hi Kevin. I'm one of the Groups administrators for this site and I noticed your group for Military folks has been inactive since July. I would really love to see you continue this group or hand it off, but if you don't think that's going to happen, please let me know and I'm happy to remove it. Basically, any group that is inactive over 90 days gets a little note from me. :) Thanks so much. ~ Jason

Hey Kevin, how's it going? Sorry I have been away from the boards lately. I have had an extremely busy summer working on other outside projects. Now, I are ready to spend the next 48 days or more doing the work I love. (lol), which is facilitating and coaching. I have been working with Tony Alesandra and the Platinum Rule Group on my certification with them. I will be presenting the Platinum Rule (I call it DiSC on steroids) to my target market, which is currently retired military officers.

Hey Kevin, it's been a while since we last spoke. How are things going? Is the business progressing from the idea stage?

Hi Kevin, somehow I seem to miss a lot of my messages on this board. Just now getting your invite to join the 48 Days for Military Vets group. Sounds interesting. I would love to check it out. I will stay in touch.

Kevin,

Great to see you here and with the great focus on veterans. This was a question I had a while ago is how to focus on those in and leaving the military. I know it can be daunting and hear it all the time.

Thanks for the invite and if there are things I can help with somehow, let me know.
