- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
- Thank you, Ashley for inviting me to join this group. I look forward to possibilities that may come from connecting with like-minded souls on this journey of discovery / self-discovery...of what is our true calling...our passion ....and how might we share that with the world....and turn on the light in others.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- Self-employed, a dentist.
Lately I call myself a 'fudge-making story teller...and being half Italian I tell my best stories when my hands are (busy doing great dentistry..with a captive audience :-). I do add to peoples qualities of life by enhancing their smiles.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- To find clarity on my expanded calling outside of dentistry. I would like to be a best selling author, speaker and coach. (transformational leader -- personal development and spiritual coach). Most recently earned a 'Story-Coach' certificate.
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- I connect deeply and genuinely with people. What you see is what you get. Each morning, I engage to be sure my 'light' is on, then I try to be a catalyst/uplifter for others to 'light up'

I don't know about you but it seems as Thanksgiving Day is becoming lost between the shuffle. Can you feel it in the air? The hustle and bustle. I do have friends in the retail business and I understand the power of 'Black Friday' for their bottom line....but Black Friday has been advertised since Halloween. And in our town -- Black Friday is actually starting Thanksgiving Thursday afternoon. Two local radio stations have been playing Christmas music since November 1st.

A while back I was co-coaching with a mentor on "Life Skills for Personal Excellence". The lesson for the week was "Listening-Responding" (as opposed to 'hearing - reacting' as many of us have been programmed to do). I come from a large Italian-Irish family, not only to we tend to be the loud family…

With a clinical background in dentistry and having consulted and coached in the medical and dental communities, I’m always thrilled when clinicians understand the importance of making sure that patients are heard. Well put!! Listening creates greater patient loyalty and gives practitioners a window into the patient’s world. This can ultimately supplement the medical history with clues regarding diseases and/or physical issues (e.g., stress) which often manifest in the mouth. Great reminder to keep honing our listening skills!
