How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Chuck Bowen. I hope to attain ideas and convictions necessary to generate a full time income by growing a financial coaching practice. I believe my biggest hurdle to overcome is that I have been someone elses employee for 20+ years and am struggling with the emotions of transitioning to the uncertainty of being self employed, even though I believe with every ounce of my spirit that it is what God is leading me to do.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Employed as an office assistant to a financial advisor for the last 6 years. I earn an extra $1000/year as a tax preparer working out of my home. I attended the Dave Ramsey counselor training in July/Aug 2008 and opened up for business on Oct 1st. I am only working out of that office one day a week. At this point I have zero clients, but doors seem to be opening, especially in the last week.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
To be able to coach full time. I'm good at my current job and I enjoy it to a large degree, but it is not my calling.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
To do some things that are beyond just meeting basic needs such as vacactions & travel, retirement & college savings. I have a pilot's license and would love to be able to fly again, but I haven't stepped into an airplane as the pilot since I got married 6 years ago. I would also like to find time to work out and keep in shape physically.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I believe I am pretty detailed and analytical. I like to teach and read scripture. I'd like to find out if God has gifted me in other areas that I'm not aware of.

Jeff, it was great to see you in Nashville at the 48 Days Facilitator Certification. We had some lively discussions and I’m excited to see everyone get their classes up and running. If I can do anything to help (even if it’s to answer a question), let me know.
Also, if you're trying to grow a business as a coach and want to see the model I've used successfully over the years, feel free to download the Six Figure Coaching Model I just put together.

Hey Jeff! Welcome to the Group. I think we all struggle with that uncertainty. That's normal. I "fired" my boss almost a year ago and started my own business and I have never regretted it. That first year is hard, but I know in my heart that this is what I'm suppose to be doing. Trying to establish a good solid client base is challenging, but I have many irons in the fire and hopefully my hard work will pay off soon. Good luck to you!
