Michelle Petersen said… Thanks Jason for the suggestion and welcome. We live in Osborn, MO - which is about 60 miles due north of downtown KC. My husband works in Lenexa so he has a hefty trek every day but I work from home. (Got the better end of that deal!) If there is ever a KC 48 Days "meetup" I'd definitely be interested.
I have already taken some photos of the dogs boarding with us, so great minds think alike :). When one of our best customer's dogs went home last month, I sent along a printed 5 x 7 that I'd taken of "Alfie" during her stay and the owner was thrilled. What I don't know HOW to do (tactfully?) is to monetize this. I feel awkward as a "sales" person in general and prefer more passive marketing. I would feel weird telling a boarding client, "I did a photo shoot with Fluffy during her stay and she had a ball! The pics are lovely, do you want to buy them?" -- Obviously not phrased very well :), but you get the idea. The actual photography and computer editing, I am comfortable with. The "selling" aspect... not so much!
I'm going to check out your website and podcasts (I'm a podcast junky since I can listen while walking the dogs and doing "other" work at the same time!) Thanks so much for the welcome and I look forward to learning more and hopefully contributing some useful things too.
