Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Kevin Miller got me turned onto this. I want to multiply my ideas here. Mine tend to be small. Other people are better at "thinking out of the box", and I'm willing to listen.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am a full-time employee by day, and work on my website whenever I can.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I would love the website to be my full-time job. Unfortunately it's still very new and has a long way to go to support what I want it to. However, I have planted the tree. Now I just have to nuture it to grow for me.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I just got married on Jan 2, 09!! I am currently loving being a newlywed and looking forward to that feeling not ending any time soon. We have created our life to be simple and humble. We don't seek jobs or incomes to give us fine homes or fine cars. Me and my brand new husband seek careers that allow our lifestyles to give us TIME; time for each other, time for God, time for long bike rides, time for trips, time for exercising, time for making memories. And we seek incomes to allow us to do that.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?

If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
Tapestry of Truth.com was created to bring glory to God's Word through art and design. It is 110% customer satisfaction guarantee to inspire you or your money back.

Retail e-business Owner...Tapestry of Truth.com

I am a first-time e-business owner trying to make a name for my company in the local market, and online. With a lot of competition out there in the area of "wall lettering", I have a niche. My desire is to get people inspired not by merely putting words on their walls, but by putting God's Word on their walls. If it inspires us to read it, or to hear it read to us. How much more could it inspire us daily to SEE it - big and beautiful, loud and clear...even colorful, if you so choose.

Hopefully this website will help me to stay encouraged; finding innovative ways to market and sell my product. As I said before, this is my first business of any kind. At times the "newness" of it all can be quite intimidating, not to mention discouraging.

As we all know, e-businesses are a dime a dozen. I need to stand out in my field. And I need to reach my "target" consumers - Christians, believers, followers of Jesus Christ. There are an estimated 2.1 billion Christians in the world, with 230+ million of those in the United States.

I never thought it would take so much work to "get out there". Now here I am with that realization larger than ever. I dug in with both feet when I launched this website, thinking then that I would be sitting pretty after the launch. That's comical to me now. Time to dig back in!! and looking forward to it!!

Happy Birthday!

Posted on July 31, 2009 at 6:18pm 2 Comments

After finishing business with a customer eariler today I asked her if she had any big plans for the weekend. She said tomorrow she was going to her aunt's birthday party. She would be 92, and added "and she's more active than me!". Mary Helen I would guess somewhere around 65.

I love hearing statements like that. I always immediately ask the same question...."so what is her (or his) secret?". I've not gotten this response yet. Square dancing.

At her 90th birthday… Continue

I set up a booth today for the North American Christian Convention that begins tomorrow. I am so excited about this opportunity and can't wait to see what I learn from it!

Going in I had an idea of how I wanted to do a presentation/slide show, but really had no idea of how to make it happen. So I took a shot and posted a discussion on MediaMoneyMakers. Andy Traub emailed me, connected with me on the phone, and SKYPEd me right through it!

Sometimes it's just that… Continue

Okay, it's not me. But as I was having a conversation with Grandma the other day she informed me about one of her friends that has a person stop by once a week to "clean the yard". That's right, this person gets paid $10 a week to clean up after her pooch. Talk about a niche!

I thought it was genious personally. And she didn't know, but I bet it's some resourceful young person. And they are right on their way to successful self-employment! Seriously, who wants that job? Not… Continue

Mountain Biking 101

Posted on April 25, 2009 at 9:42am 2 Comments

My husband made a neatest statement the other night on our bikes while we were out on a trail. I was peddling my heart out in front of him, climbing a hill.

He says "you know, mountain biking is the perfect 'balance' sport."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you work hard, climb, crawl over things, put in the sweat....then you get the downhill!"

Spot on baby! Man, was that ever a true statement. Maybe you haven't been on a bike in years. Maybe not… Continue

My husband had a bad day....well, he won't be home for a few more hours so it probably won't get much better. He is currently finishing up his Master's. Tonight is good, but next Tuesday, his very final class ever, is great!! He didn't enjoy much of it, but he is cursed with finishing everything that he starts. And oddly, we hit it off anyway;)

So anyway, he had a rough day at work. And me being the wondeful, supportive wife that I am, thought I would surprise him with a great… Continue

Jackie, I just ran across the beautiful birthday card you sent me back in December with the picture of Dan "proposing" to me at the tree where he ORIGINALLY proposed over 43 years ago!  I am not sure now if I ever told you how happy your card made me. It was so sweet of you to send.  It was a very busy time of year and I may have overlooked responding to your kind gesture.  Thanks so much.  I will keep this one for sure!  And I love the pics of you and your husband. What a beautiful couple you make.  I hope all is well for the two of you. Email me sometime with an update if you can.. Joanne@48Days.com            Hugs and Blessings, Joanne

Hi Jackie,

Welcome to the community. You'll find this to be a pretty good place to make new friends and exchange ideas.
There are plenty of ways to get involved depending on what your interests are.

I see that you joined my friend Chuck's group and also Robs. Good choices and great friends.

Can I also suggest that you stop by and join us in the winner's circle.
Our primary goal is to help our friends find calling and purpose in their work, and in their lives.

Thanks for your encouragement concerning my "job" loss Jackie.
This community is certainly the one to hang with during times like these.
I am anticipating many positive changes in my near future now that I am being released form the traditional job.

Keep in touch and God bless,

Archie
