My blog is getting very good feedback. I'm hoping that speaking engagements will naturally follow, but primarily see the blog as a way to build the brand and establish me as an "expert" in the field.

I like the overall framework and the header is great. I would try to move more "information" into a prominent spot on the main page. What catches my eye immediately are what would appear to the casual reader to be two banner ads stacked on top…
Profile Information
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- Primary work is as a systems analyst for a large corporation. Trying to get new media consulting/speaking business up to speed (shifting from first gear to second?).
- And then...what is the goal/dream you are striving for regarding your work life?
- I am now several months into my new media consulting and speaking business. I've been doing various aspects of this work for years, but only now am I working to formalize all aspects of the business (so I guess it WAS just a hobby). My passion is working with churches, para-church organizations, and non-profit groups on spreading their message in this new media age.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- My dream is to reward a faithful, patient, and loyal wife of 28 years with some of those things that we've been holding off on for the soon-to-be empty nest phase. Above all I hope to honor my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in all that I do.
- What would you say are your core competencies? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- Leadership, vision, speaking, creativity, organization, direction, focus.

Email!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since joining 48 Days a couple of months ago, I've unchecked settings on my email one by one to try and stem the flow of email notifications (people joining, people updating posts, etc.). Finally, I checked "no emails" to stop all the email altogether. For some reason I've started receiving emails again. Any idea why? I like some emails, but it appears to be all or nothing here.

Perseverance
This is the point at which I would typically start to lose enthusiasm about my current project and rationalize it all in my mind with something like, "things are pretty good anyhow...why push myself so hard?" Keeping goals in front of me and sticking to some daily tasks are helping to keep the ball moving forward.

- Jack, Thanks for posting on my page. In response, actually our Untethered Group was originally exactly what you described. However, I am finding that alot of that is too far down the road for where people are right now here at 48 Days. I decided to broaden that group and we will include social media topics as the need arises. That is certain where my interests and experience lies. I welcome your thoughts.
