There are great trails all around st. louis - Grants Trail (our small group from church meets every thursday and bikes that for about an hour or so -- I do not usually make it, but I could introduce you if you are interested), there is the Katy Trail in St. Charles area -- depends where you live as to which is more convenient.

In KC we have a group that meets each Thursday to speak in Japanese at a local coffee shop. They've been meeting about 20 years now.
