He had a stable job. He enjoyed it for the most part. But…he knew there was something more. He wanted to use his God-given talents to do something else…something more.
Many would tell him ‘Are you crazy to look for a different job? You should just be happy with what you…

Fear of not finding your calling?
Fear of giving up a secure job?
Fear of God being angry if you make a poor choice?
Fear of your family starving to death?
Some fears are legit. Others…are not. How we face these fears is key.
A new…

I hear this question often: Can’t my calling change over time?
It’s a legitimate question. One that we should wrestle with.
The things we do in life…the things we do in our jobs, they will change over time.
For example, I’ve moved from technical roles to people-focused roles over…

Are you willing to take some risks?
I don’t mean eating Chinese instead of Mexican tonight.
I mean taking a significant risk…that could result in significant reward.
I’m just getting ready to go to the country of Georgia. I’m fired up about engaging with people across cultures (as I always am when I go on such a trip …![]()
Tim Geisinger said… Brent- I have a science fiction Christian worldview novella I would like you to read and pass on to any writer/editor/publisher that you might know of. My friend Fredrick Dexter (Jerry) and I are trying to get an audience for this. Could send it through my e-mail if you are interested.

Kathleen Menasco said… Hi, Brent. I said I would let you know when my website it up...It is! www.skincancerselfexam.com I am sure you have been told to be vigilant with your own self exams because of your familial connection to the cancer. I hope this website helps. There will also be a page for people to share their stories. "your story". If you would like, we would love to hear your story like you just told me. It is incredibly helpful to others. Take care, Kathleen
Tim Geisinger said… I'm sharing an Mp3 of mine through a new discussion. It's title is "Please come away" Any comments would be highly appreciated and helpful. Thanks, Brent.
Kathleen Menasco said… Hi Brent, I don't see that I have commented back to you after telling me of your father-in-law's passing from skin cancer. I am days away from launching my website, so I will pass that along to you for your wife as soon as it is done. Hopefully it will bring her some peace of mind about her own risks. Thank you for the encouraging words! Kathleen Menasco
Tim Geisinger said… I'm going to look into buying "It's your call" By Gary Barkalow. Thanks for the suggestion. Right now I am reading a good book titled "Discover who you are" by Stark, Kise and Hirsh. The book resonates with me because it focuses on Life Gifts--teaching, written communication, administrating, counseling, etc.--and Christian values--personal integrity, generosity, love, peace, service, etc.

Rick Barkley said… I travel to East Africa once to twice a year. I love it! Travel is a huge passion of mine as well. We try to take an international trip as a family once a year as well. The kids love it! It really is amazing all we can learn from all different cultures. Have you ever been to Africa?
