Last night while my wife and I were discussing the idea of ‘what do I do where time just flies by,’ she pointed out that I like to search for things.  We talked it through and she is right.  This is something that I have always done.  There are countless examples of me searching for the perfect car, house, job, business, bike, etc.  Once I get locked on to the idea of finding or hunting for something I can happily spend as long as it takes to complete the research needed to make a well informed…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about 48 days listening to the Dave Ramsey show.
What do I hope to get? That is a great question, I am at a point where I feel I should be able to clearly articulate what I am passionate about, but unfortunately I cannot. I hope exploring the 48 days community, reading the books and blogs will help me to clearly define my vision. As I refine my vision, I hope to use the 48 days community to sanity check my ideas, to encourage myself and others and to get moving forward.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am an employee of a tech company and I have been an employee the bulk of my professional career. I am very thankful for the steady income and I do work on some interesting technologies on occasion. However... as a teenager, I always thought I would own my on business.
I LOVE to learn new things. I am confident that I can learn new things and I am confident that if I work hard enough I can make anything work. This is a blessing because I dive into new situations, work hard and excel in that new situation. This is also a curse because I will dive into the new situation just because it represents a learning opportunity and not spend much if any time thinking about if the new opportunity is something I have a passion for.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My goals and dreams need to be developed. I honestly don’t know and can’t articulate right now. It is time to read, take some tests and try to get it sorted out. I kind of think it would be cool to go to Haiti and help rebuild for a year or two.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I have a wonderful wife of 18 years, 4 health kids ages 12 to 4. I would like to love my wife well, parent my children well, teach my kids a strong work ethic, teach my children how to be financially independent, how to figure out what their dreams are and how to strive achieve them.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I do enjoy learning new things. I’m no genius and don’t have a photographic memory or anything like that, I can’t spell worth a flip, I am basically average. For whatever reason, I am willing to work harder than other folks that I have been around. I should be more risk adverse than I am. I usually pickup on new things fairly quickly. I do enjoy a good spreadsheet. I am decent canoeist and kayaker. I am an above average athlete, albeit an ageing one.

Andrew -- Welcome to 48Days.net. You’re joining lots of other Dave Ramsey listeners here. Dave and I have been friends for over 20 years now.

I developed the concept of 48 Days to help people have a reasonable timeline for making real change in their lives. And yes, I’m convinced 48 Days is a long enough time period to evaluate where you are, get the advice of people you trust, decide what your best options are, create a plan, and ACT.

This site is the place where you can get advice from people you trust. You’ll find this to be a warm, encouraging and innovative group. Many of the members here have already found their focus and are up and running with work that is meaningful, purposeful – and profitable. Sounds like you've got a great business but may be open to some changes. This group is full of great ideas and strategies to make them come to life.

Make this your year to get the clarity you're looking for - to find your passion and vision for the future.

Thanks for being part of the 48 Days family. We’re glad you joined us! Dan Miller – 48 Days

Hey there Andrew --

... and welcome to 'Make My Biz Profitable'! As you can see, we have a lot going on at 48Days.net.

Also, since you're in CO, have you considered joining us at www.FreeAgentUnderground.com? Dan's son Kevin (Woodland Park) and I co-founded it about a year ago and focus on helping entrepreneurs get unprecedented results for themselves. If you like what you see, you can get a sneak peak that includes ALL classes we offer during a 15 day period for $10. If you don't find value, I'll refund your $10 from my pocket.

So glad you're with us here Andrew!

This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity.

Depending on what your interests are, there is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with.

One group that is worth looking into is 180 Service Station.
Good stuff going on in there.

Another group you'll want to stop by is the 4 points coaching compass.
One of my friends is leading the discussion and we would love to get your insights.
