Profile Information
- How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
- Dan is a brother of a close friend of mine, and I just heard him mentioned on a Dave Ramsey video segment in my high school financial literacy class. In addition to working with young Amish & Mennonite students in a unique business/career exploration class, I teach an adult GED class. Those learners frequently are seeking career changes or have needs beyond "academics." I frequently find myself "coaching" and encouraging in that role, and am curious to learn more about someone who is obviously gifted in that role and has an inspired message to share.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- I am employed by a career center as a full-time teacher. I am also currently employed part-time in an adult ed program. I had to take a break from helping my father in the office at the family farm when I took the full-time teaching job.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- I want to be a "master teacher" type of educator... one who helps to nurture a love of learning in those around me. I also want to handle change effectively, and try to stay on top of the academic "content" as well as current "best practices" in the teaching profession.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- One of my prominent goals currently is to become physically fit. I have been actively making progress on this goal since January and will be running my first 5K this Sunday with my sister. Achieving mini-goals in regards to this area of my life has definitely spilled over in positive ways to other aspects of my life.l
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- I am a creative person and an "ideas" person. When I set my mind to do something or take on a project, I usually do it well. I also think I'm pretty good at relating to people.

One thing I noticed on your profile is you want to become a "master teacher". If you have any questions, just ask.
Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!
