I agree with you 100%, boundaries is necessary but it has to be environment that kids are part of, help them to develop fully in healthy well-rounded adults.
More and more kids will be obese over the course of the next 10-20 yrs. We have increasingly become a society that has everything at the tip of our hands and there is no longer a need for kids to 1) work outside/do chores or 2) go out and play with…
An alarm clock.
Why an alarm clock? You use it with the TV/Video Games/Etc. Tell your kids they have X amount of time & when the clock goes off that's it.
It teaches them balance but gives them some time for fun.
It's all about boundaries.

Make juces from vegetables and fruits (organic), give ours…
Food, food, food! If we could educate and encourage good food (whole, non-processed foods) habits, we could make a big change.
