Just  wanted to share a quick note about the power of Mastermind Groups.

Less than 6 months ago, fellow 48 Days Member, Leo Landarverde committed to a mastermind group with the goal of publishing his book and launch his executive coaching business. Today, his book The Unbreakable Mindset: The Successful Entrepreneur's Guide to Bouncing Back from Defeat is:

  • #1 in Men's Christian Living
  • #1 in Mentoring and Coaching
  • #451 in Amazon's Best Seller

I hope each of you are finding the same level of success when you are fully engaged in your mastermind groups.

NOTE: Leo is making his book available for free for a limited time. Check out his interview and get the download link here.

David, I'm curious how did you find the members for your mastermind? My brother-in-law and I have started one but so far we've asked 5 to join us and none have shown much interest. Curious as to how others have found folks.

Jon's mastermind has really helped me get more out of what I am doing and help others too. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to take their business to another level.

We had a really good Mastermind Group session the other day with fellow 48 Days Member Leo Landaverde. Leo shared some of the lessons he learned from his journey as an owner of a $20 Million health care organization to going bust and working his way back again - The Unbreakable Mindset

I'll be launching a new Maximizer Mastermind Group next month. If you'd like more information, send me an email to Jon@MaximizeOthers.com

David -

I had a person ask to join my current Mastermind Group, and they brought up this exact issue. I very politely explained to them that the biggest value that I (and the group) bring to them is the ability to connect them with people that can help execute their idea, and asked them to reconsider their thoughts regarding "stealing ideas" and instead take the risk of "sharing ideas."

I’ve been strongly influenced by posts like this one. In a related context, I’ve ranted about NDAs on my podcast and blog. (As a rule, unless a client is willing to pay for a minimum engagement of $10,000 I don’t sign NDAs.)

Here's why I think that type of mindset can be poisonous to a Mastermind Group:

  1. The person has an unrealistic valuation of "their" idea. In short, If over the course of a coffee conversation, or even a few Mastermind groups, I'm able to discover all the unique value propositions of the idea that you've spent years working on, then you probably don't have an idea that a million other people have.
  2. Ideas are a dime a dozen. Execution is king.
  3. No truly great idea can be executed without a team. "hiding the idea" simply limits the people that you can expose who to who can truly help you execute it.
