Thanks Susan.

I like the blog idea due to vast access for sharing experiences. I'll check more into setting up a blog. This may help create a book that is more informative and offer encouragement for others.

Kenneth, sounds to me like you have some wonderful experiences that would really  inform others going through similar problems.  I would suggest you start with a blog to get those writing juices started (and you can also use the blogs as stories in your book).  I'd say get a good developmental editor or book coach who can help you get your ideas structured for the book, but you can start the blog quickly.

I would like to have input or suggestions about writing a book. The book subject is about personal experiences with managing my marriage and caring for a family member who suffers with mental illness.

The overall objective is to encourage care givers and offer supporting ideas to keep a marriage healthy while giving a loved one the care needed to recover or manage mental illness.

I have written journals of personal experiences covering topics such as: caregiving, stress and care for marriage, role of mental health care professions, finances, faith, role of church, family relations, employment, etc.

At this time, writing a book seems to be the best selection to reach most people. Another alternative is starting a blog. However, is my topic too selective to be effective and cost prohibitive?

Thank you.

Barry, congratulations on your book!!! Amazing accomplishment!  I don't drink sodas but I can relate because going without sugar for 100 days would be very challenging for me.

Beth, congratulations. What an awesome opportunity that dropped into your lap. Wow!

Barry, congratulations on your book. It does seem your going without soda for 100 days is drawing more attention though. I agree with Kingsley that you definitely have to write the e-book of going with soda for 100 days. It's obviously resonating with people. I struggle with that soda monkey too. I can go for a couple of weeks but then it comes back stronger than ever. Save us from soda, Barry!

Beth & Barry,

Congratulations on your books!!  I am excited to check them both out!!  I am getting close to that place myself, so your sharing is just making me all the more inspired, so thank you!!

Barry, congrats on the soda drinking.  A while back, we decided to get a soda stream, and I have to say, instead of me drinking more soda, we actually drink less, but I found that just keeping a cold container of the carbonated water around has helped me a ton.  I guess I just like the carbonation :-) Anyways, congrats again, that is a HUGE accomplishment!!

Barry, just wanted to add this: It would be good if you could catalog (make an ebook) on how you were able to kick the habit of drinking soda or better still, why it took me 100 days to kick the soda habit or how to kick the soda habit in 100 days. Congrats.
