How did those who have published books go about finding an editor? Do you use editors for your blog posts?

Big shout out to WIF member Adam Rico. He joined our Self-Publishing Success Academy and used a strategy we talked about in the first class. The result is he is now a contributor for the Huffington Post!!

Hey guys,

I have really been enjoying all the feedback, encouragement, and resources that I've seen in this group.  Up till now I have just watched everyone else interact, especially because I have been on the fence about writing a book.  However, between Dan & Michael Hyatt and the brainstorm sessions, I am now convinced that I should.

In my mind introducing myself in here is my first step!!  I know I can't do this on my own.  I already introduced myself in the forum, so I don't want to double up and bore everyone :-)  But for writing, here is what I am thinking:

I have a series of Booklets I would like to write.  They will be about Battling Depression, but more importantly Finding Freedom in every day life and habits.  My first one will be about TIME.

I have started the writing process and have a couple of sections written already.  If you guys know of any resources (of course I know of Dan's :-) ), I would greatly appreciate them.

I am so excited and nervous about interacting in this group.  I see there are so many great things going on, and it looks like many of you are doing amazing things!  I am completely inspired, so thank you for all that you are doing, and keep up the great work!!

Here's to a fabulous 2015!!

Today Jared Easley and I are interviewing the founder/owner of Buck Books for Starve the Doubts. I'll share once it goes live :)

I'll let you know how it goes...always worth trying, right?

Yeah, the Singles program is pretty interesting. I haven't applied a book for it, so I don't have a good idea of how hard it is to get in or the types of books they look for. But it's free and worth a shot I guess.

Thanks Debbie! :)

Thank you Aaron! I had no idea about that program. Thanks for reaching out telling me about it. I decided not to be in the KDP Select program so yes, when on 99 cent promo it goes down to the 35% instead of 70%. Being able to keep the 70% would be a bonus.

Congratulations, Camilla! That is amazing.

Camilla,

Congrats on the great success with your book. As a suggestion, you might consider submitting your book to the Kindle Singles program. Kindle Singles are shorter books (5,000-30,000 words) that focus on "compelling ideas expressed at their natural length".

Books that are accepted into the program get extra marketing and visibility on Amazon's site. As an even bigger bonus, you can use the 70% royalty, even if your book is priced at $.99. Normally, books below $2.99 only earn 35%.

It's free to apply your book for the program. Details at the link below:

Keep up the great work!

Aaron
