So I think this is good learning for Amy Flatt too if you're thinking of selling yourself.

Yesterday I decided to sell the Kindle version myself through Paypal and since I did I could include a bonus (win-win). After spending half the evening emailing people their files as PP randomly didn't I ended up changing the price on Amazon (which means a 35 cent profit instead of 66 cent profit). Do you make more $ selling yourself? You do, but there's a reason why Amazon exist. Downloading the .mobi file (or the epub file ) the long way vs. it automatically being downloaded to your reader by Amazon or B&N is a huge selling point.

Since I can't edit my comment below anyone who buys it from Amazon and wants the PDF (as that was the original bonus) message me and I'll be happy to send it your way.

Zelda - I'm messaging you :-)

Amy, Amazon has a preponderance of the ebook business market share. That's where most book buyers go first, and Amazon automatically markets books to people who have already purchased a book in that book's particular genre. I've posted ebooks for sale on Barnes and Noble and Kobo Books, and the Amazon sales far exceed sales on those sites. B & N is a distant second. In my opinion, if you don't post to Amazon, you are severely limiting your book's potential. Good luck with it.

Hi Camilla, I downloaded your book, but I don't see a link to a pdf.

I have uploaded our ebook to Amazon.  When I wanted to set the rate they wouldn't let me choose the rate I want.  They have put a cap on it.  I know they aren't the only game in town.  The book is listed on their site in draft form so I can still take it down, change the royalty, opt to place it several different places.  What ebook press do you think is best or is there a combo you have been most successful with? I am so excited to be this close.

Hi everyone! Now there's nothing like holding a paperback in your hand (available as paperback on Amazon) but for those that prefer Kindle I just put my "37 Days of Different" on sale for 99 cents through June 11th. Normally I'd use Amazon but I'm including the PDF as a bonus so checkout is through Paypal instead (you'll receive a link to download that contains the files right after checkout).

Cheers!

Just wanted to share with the group that I was recently approached by the military social media site Rallypoint to write for their Command Post blog.  This opportunity came by me being active on the site and in the forums.  This will be unlike the technology content that I post on my blog and I am really excited that I've been chosen to share my writing with others in the Rallypoint community.
