Sutton, thank you for your condolences.

Cam, you're absolutely right!

Marianne, thank you for the complement and your prayers.  She was wonderful, to say the least.  I am looking forward to when we will meet at Jesus' feet.  And thanks for the kind words and the blog post about the book.  I'm glad it blessed you.

Steve, thank you for the condolences and the comforting words.  We have been experiencing that peace - and it is amazing!

Henry - My condolences to you and your family. Paul speaks of a "peace that passes understanding" in one of his letters. My prayer is that you find and experience that peace as you are lead by the Holy Spirit.

Happy to bring smiles. Laughter is good for the heart -- especially in times when the circumstances are less than ideal.

Frances:

That is a great idea. So many older people have lived such interesting lives and have amazing wisdom but if we don't capture it, it's gone forever. I wish I had done that with my relatives.

Jen, thank you for your prayers.  We really appreciate them.

Kent (and Erin and Cam), thank you for the blog comments.  And thank you for your prayers and words of comfort while I was making the daily visits to the hospital earlier in the year.  You're a good friend.

Cam, thanks for making me laugh.

Sibyl, thank you for empathizing with me.  And thank you for your kind words.

Frances, GET THAT KNOWLEDGE FROM HER WHILE YOU STILL CAN.  Make the time to be with her.  If she doesn't want to write it down, use a video camera (a web cam will do).  Not only will you have the information, but you will have video and audio of her so you will be able to see and hear her whenever you want once she's gone.  And you're absolutely right: let her know how much you love and appreciate her.

Sorry for your loss, Henry. My dad passed over 10 years ago. My mom moved in with me. She is almost 82. She don't get out much but still very sharp in her mind. I have begged her to write down her life experience and all her recipes so I can capture them in a book. She has so much to tell. I know I don't give her enough time.

Such beautiful words about your mother. We all need to take time to tell our moms how much they mean to us. They deserve our acknowledgement and  appreciation for helping us to become who we are today.

Henry, I feel your pain, my mother passed away of leukemia as well, three years ago on July 4th.  Your blog post is beautiful, well done.
