Hi Marlene. Welcome to the group! You'll find some great people, as well as great information, here. What kind of writing do you do?

Way to go, Mark! One thing I love about you is you take ACTION.

Jen...I'm the kind of Umms :)  I've gotten better, but I still have a long way to go.  But I've found that authenticity and adding value are more powerful than anything else.

Way to go Sam!

I'm honored to be guest posting today on the blog of TC Avey, who is an awesome writer and strong Christian woman! http://tcavey.blogspot.com/2012/04/passion-for-souls.html Feels right to chase our passions! That's what the post is about.

My first article was "The Purpose Driven Prepper".  It's a dropped off the front page now, but is still there. My second was, "Homesteading: Think Outside the Farm" and my third, sometime this week will be, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Prepper". In the middle of the front page there is a section called "latest articles/view more" I'm on the view more section now.  BTW, thanks for asking.

Sam, I'm brain dead today.... which article is yours on the preppers site? Their page is FULL and ........ help! Where on the page is the featured article?

Wendi, I just downloaded your eBook, Timeless Truths for Troubled Times. How long did it take to write it? Seems like you might have poured your heart and soul into it for several years. I'm enjoying it. Thank you for sharing!

btw--I was born & raised in central PA. I see that you pastored a church in Williamsport. Blessings! Colleen

Wendi,

I downloaded your book.  Looking forward to reading it.  Your cover is the same as Henry's original cover for his book (Daily Deposits for the Soul) -- a good choice!

Have a Victorious Day!

Scott, you may want to start a discussion in that you are actually seeking feedback and would want to be able to refer to the replies sometime in the future.

My first thought on the site was WOW!  The mountain peaks imagery is crisp and vivid, and it immediately grasps your attention.  It also ties quite well with the theme of your message.

On the book pages, I would like to see the synopses at the top so that I can tell whether I would like to order.  Having the purchase links at the top gave the pages a "hard sell" feel as soon as I got there.  Think about it from the customer's perspective: why would I look to buy a book that I know nothing about first.  Let me know what the book is about and how I can benefit from reading the book, then how I may purchase it.  Make sense?

The Embrace Your Destiny ebook is very generous in content.  I would recommend "selling" it and its benefits more throughout the site--possibly on the sidebar.  There's no mention of it on the home page.  In my opinion, you are missing a golden opportunity to let the visitors know just how generous you are.  Letting them know about this wonderful freebie could make them like you right away, and become more likely to stay connected to you in some way (e.g. email subscription, podcast, fb/twitter).  These new fans then are more likely to buy from you, if not when they first visit, then sometime down the road.

I was surprised that I could download Embrace Your Destiny without providing any information.  You may want to consider making it a free gift for visitors taking some desired action, such as signing up for the blog email subscription.  Just a thought.

You have done a nice job with the site.  There are other members who are much stronger in this area than I.  So I look forward to hearing their thoughts as well.  Hope this helps!
