Shayee, two thoughts on speaking in Arizona. TO get your name out there as both a speaker and a consultant, contact the professional organizations in the area to see if they are looking for program content and speakers for their dinner meetings or events. Orgs such as Society of Professional Engineers, Project Management Institute, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and APICS could all be examples for you to seek out. Secondly, many event planners hold meetings in AZ due to the nice weather and wealth of activities. Do some research and see who is coming to town.

Hope this helps!!

Shayee - congrats on making the decision to make the big move. A couple things - if you haven't attended Kent's speak it forward Bootcamp would definitely recommend it. Second - as speakers no matter what area of re world we live in, the big questions alway seem to be what is my message and who is my audience. Would suggest looking through areas such as associations and seeing what is not only out there but also what types of topics are they hiring speakers to speak about. Obviously this is a short answer to a very big question with the takeaway being this stuff takes some investment of time and effort to figure out. Personally I am big on hiring coaches who are already successful in doing what I want to do as it makes getting from point a to point b quicker, with less effort and with many more financial returns than I could have done on my own. This might be a good discussion to start as well so folks can easily chime in and the conversation doesn't get lost in the comment section. Best wishes on your move.

Hey all,

Last time I posted on here, I was wondering about the feasibility of working as an engineering consultant (that loves public speaking) in Miami FL.  Well, instead of Miami, my Fiancee and I ended up in Phoenix AZ.  We will be moving there at the end of May (I currently live in Cleveland OH - so its a huge move).

As with all change, there has to be a death to something.  I spent all day saturday moping and mourning potential losses.  As a result of an anchor in my faith, I am now ready to push on.

I will be looking for Engineering Consulting opportunities in Phoenix AZ, preferrably one where I can also get to do some speaking.  Does anyone have any ideas of places to consider, websites to search for potential companies to work for, or any other advice as we step into this transition.

Hey Bob,

I would move your question up to the Discussion Forum more people can answer there, but Kent would be the best person to answer your question.

Can anyone give me an example of an "anchor" you use when you are speaking?  I'm just starting out as a speaker so I don't know anything about using anchors.

Excited for the webinar with Kary O, Dan, and Joanne tomorrow night. If you haven't signed up yet, click HERE for the details.

If you missed Kent's revolving door marketing system webinar last night, it was AWESOME. Jill Davis and I were talking this morning and we both agreed that no matter how many times we have heard Kent speak on this stuff, we always come away with some great takeaways to bring back to our business. Also fun to see the super stars he listed (Eric, Maureen, Jeff, etc.) as their stories are inspiring.

Oh gosh, thanks so much for the kind shout out Jeff!!! I very much appreciate it!!!   was at a NSA local chapter meeting as a guest today watching a awesome presentation by Ryan Estis on how he drove his business from $0 to a million dollar a year business (it was really awesome and there were some interesting things learned - also was a great affirmation that the things learned from Kent Julian, Jane Atkinson, etc. are the things that will keep us on the right track if we stick to it). Anyways, several members were really excited about the monthly list building service as it is such a tedious process that is nice to hand off inexpensively to a team such as mine.

Hey, wanted to make sure you guys saw the post from Chad Jeffs HERE as he is offering a back stage series that many of us may find very useful. Nice that he is offering free to 48days.net members.

Also VERY excited for Kent's upcoming webinar on Monday - always pick up valuable and realistic inform whenever I hear Kent present. Not sure if he still has room for folks to register, but click HERE for the info.
